Fury's playing the media game.
Parker is the best around is an insurance policy. If Fury loses he can say well I lost to the best heavy in the world but I'm ready for AJ and DW.
Kind of dumb that the media jump at these stories but then again its bloody great to see the NZ media so interested in boxing
the people who write boxing columns in NZ have zero knowledge of the sport and are pure cheerleaders for Joe Parker. The quality of reporting is atrocious.
'Parker is far superior than Joshua' sticks in my mind.

Agree and most of them had no interest since the Tua v Cameron fight and even that was a fleeting interest for one fight.
Before that Tua v Lewis was in the news for 48 hours but that was about it. Then DUCO and Parker came along and boxing was cool again.
Media is all about popularity these days and right now boxing is popular. Sure we are feed some utter dribble at times but at least the media is interested for longer than 5 minutes this time around
Chisora disses Parker

He's not wrong.

Quote:Outspoken British heavyweight Dereck Chisora reckons Joseph Parker would have his hands full fighting him.

Bullish British boxer Dereck Chisora has questioned Joseph Parker's rights to a world title, saying the Kiwi heavyweight hasn't proven himself.

Parker defends his WBO title against England's Hughie Fury in Auckland on May 6.

The fight continues to draw interest in Britain and the 33-year-old Chisora, never short of an opinion, weighed in with his views on Parker.

WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko deals out some punishment to Dereck Chisora during their 2012 title bout.

"He's boxed nobodies, taxi drivers, bus drivers in New Zealand. He hasn't proven himself," Chisora said.

"He has to prove himself. He's got to come out of the jungle he's been living in down there, far away from the world and come and live down on this side. Prove yourself."

Joseph Parker's WBO belt doesn't interest Dereck Chisora but the Brit is keen on big money to fight the Kiwi.

Chisora has a 26-7 professional record and is the fourth ranked heavyweight in a blossoming British scene. His losses include defeats against Tyson Fury (twice), Vitali Klitschko, David Haye and Kubrat Pulev.

Last December he lost a split decision to fellow Brit Dillian Whyte in a bitter battle that saw Chisora throw a table at his opponent in the buildup.

Chisora admitted he was interested in fighting Parker – for the right money.

"Yeah 50/50 ... we meet somewhere in the middle and then we fight there," he said.

"It's about money. For me, I don't care about the titles. It's about the greens. It's about the dollar, show me the money. He can keep the title and I will keep the money, yeah, if the money was right."

Surprisingly Chisora had little to say about the prospects of Parker's clash with Fury where the Kiwi is eager to make a statement to the lucrative British market.

Asked what advice he would give Parker if he got past Fury, Chisora bristled and reiterated his ealier views.

"Don't come to Europe because I will beat you up. That's it, that's the advice I can give him because there's more tougher fighters in Europe right now than anywhere else in the world."

That's one of the most boring interviews ever
I still think Bellew would be a good fight for Parker
Bellew great fight good indicator and good ££
