AJ said he was caught with that punch. He didn't say hurt, but he definitely said it caught him. He said after the fight, "hey, that's boxing." He's right. When he faces the top 5 guys I mentioned, then his chin will be tested. Starting with Klit next month. I'm not saying he can or can't take a punch until he faces some of those top 5 guys.
My missus can wobble me with a hook and she's only 60kg

Well, don't put her in there with AJ then.

Yep, and the sparring rumours.
Rumors are just that, rumors
Joseph Parker keen for Tyson Fury to be ringside in Auckland for WBO title defence

Joseph Parker wants troubled boxing star Tyson Fury ringside for the defence of his WBO heavyweight title.

Parker has welcomed suggestions Fury will accompany his younger cousin Hughie Fury to Auckland for the May 6 clash at Vector Arena.

It's Parker's first defence of the belt he won after Tyson Fury vacated it last year as the outspoken Brit battled depression and drug abuse.

Joseph Parker has the WBO heavyweight belt that Tyson Fury used to own.

"He will get a good reception. He's the man who beat the champ, so in everyone's eyes he is still the champ in recess," the respectful Parker told Sky Sports of the controversial fighter who ripped the division open in 2015 by beating long-time champion Wladimir Klitschko.

Parker has history with the Fury camp. They wanted him to spar with Tyson in the buildup to the Klitschko fight and the pair have stayed in touch on social media.

"It will be great to have him there, great to have him down in New Zealand. We exchanged messages on Twitter, but it will be good to meet him. People love him," Parker said.

"We've got some great support from the Fury team in the past, so I think it will be great to meet them."

Parker's trainer Kevin Barry also talked up the positives of the colourful Tyson Fury coming to New Zealand for the fight.

"I hope he does make the trip. It will be great for Hughie, it will be great for the promotion to have him there," Barry said.

"As far as the Joe Parker team, we will welcome him with open arms. It was because of him that we had the opportunity to fight Andy Ruiz.

"It's because of him that the heavyweight division became exciting. We love him for that."

Tyson Fury has started training again in Britain. The theory is he will step that up over the next couple of months and could use a New Zealand trip to not only help Hughie, but also fine-tune his own skills for a return to the competitive ring.

Tyson Fury: Just finished a lovely run, great to be back,????

If Tyson Fury can return to action there's also a chance that Parker may have to fight him, if he still has his belt.

Parker's promoter David Higgins confirmed to Fairfax that his understanding of the process of Fury voluntarily handing over his WBO belt gave him a "champion in recess" standing that would allow him an automatic challenge when he felt fit enough for such an occasion.

Parker didn't duck from that either when speaking to Sky Sports, saying: "It might be an option, but first I have to get past his cousin. I don't want to look in the future."

Fury tweet: Another great morning in the gym, feeling great ?? Working really hard, being fat is great as u have something to aim for, &can see results

Quote:The trainer and father of boxer Hughie Fury has been denied entry into New Zealand.

Peter Fury was due here in late April/early May for the May 6th WBO world heavyweight title fight against Kiwi boxer Joseph Parker.

Fury, the uncle of former world champion Tyson, has drug possession and intent to supply convictions in the UK from the 1990s.

He has served two prison sentences, one for drug dealing and one for money laundering, the last ending in 2010.

Immigration New Zealand said in a statement they declined the trainer's entry on "character grounds".

"Mr Fury was ineligible for a visa unless granted a special direction," it said.

"His case was fully considered and all representations submitted on Mr Fury's behalf were taken into account before a decision was made to decline his request for a special direction."

It is understood the WBO title fight at Vector Arena will still go ahead, although Hughie Fury will not have his father in his corner.
Big blow for Hughie, good that he's still coming. I always thought he would. I guess Tyson will be his corner man. Hopefully he can give decent advice during the fight
Can't see the fight going ahead now.
I Agree.
