It could also backfire even worse for them. If KB and JP elect to fight Hughie in the US, Peter Fury won't be allowed in, effectively screwing them over.

Would that fight even sell in the us? If it don't make money, it don't make sense.

Calculated risk. There's a very good chance Hughie would pull out if he couldn't have his father and trainer in his corner. Then Parker would be free for another fight, and could face his new mandatory (#2 Hammer) in the US.

Not saying it's going to happen, it's definitely a long shot.
For how much was paid for the purse they will need to make that back, so a fight in the US is out of the question. Parker's team have said that's his last fight in NZ so looks like all things are pointing to the UK. Fighting Fury is the worst option for Parker, but he obviously might not have a choice. He'd earn the least amount of money against a trickier opponent for the smallest amount of exposure, compared to Bellew and Whyte. Frank Warrens cards are worlds apart from Eddie Hearn right now. Fury beating Parker isn't out of the question. Parker's overseas tour could be over before it even gets started. Nobody will want to fight him if he has no belt. Too much risk for too little reward.
While Joseph Parker was fighting, Hughie Fury was out on the town in London

Boxing cousins Hughie Fury and Tyson Fury out on the town in London, England, the same weekend the former was meant to be fighting New Zealand boxer Joseph Parker for the WBO heavyweight title.

Hughie Fury was meant to be in Auckland challenging Joseph Parker for his WBO heavyweight title, instead he was out partying in London.

One-time world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury posted an Instagram picture of himself and his cousin at the weekend, with the tag "Me & @hughienew in London last night".

Hughie Fury had cried off a title challenge against Parker, citing a back injury. Promoters Duco had to find a hasty replacement, leading to an uninspiring first title defence against against stand-in opponent Razvan Cojanu on Saturday night.

Parker originally stood to earn $2.4 million for a mandatory challenge against Hughie Fury but it is understood the fallout from the big Brit's 11th hour withdrawal ended up hitting Duco and Parker in the pocket hard.

While there was turmoil in New Zealand, Hughie Fury appeared well enough recovered from his back injury to be out and about, even managing a broad smile for the cameras.

Commentators on the posting highlighted his injury, "his back looks very sore", one said.

In the debrief of the Parker fight, Hughie Fury said he would knock out Parker, panning the New Zealand heavyweight's lacklustre defence of his title.

Fury still has mandatory rights to fight Parker next after pulling out of Saturday night's fight.

It was the inability of Parker to knock out the 2.02m Romanian that has seen him heavily criticised by the very market Parker is now targeting for a significant payday.

The fight was beamed live to Britain.

"Parker, to me, didn't look like he knew what to do with Cojanu after a few rounds when he couldn't land his big shots and he wasn't breaking him down," Fury told Boxing Scene.

"He made very hard work of it and against a former sparring partner who you'd think he'd know inside out and be able to take out, but he struggled and looked poor."

"Cojanu was useless and you could see he just wanted to survive in there, he didn't show any ambition to win and was in there to just to make it to the end of the fight,"

"My opinion of my chances against Parker hasn't changed after watching that. I said before I'll knock him out and that remains the same, but now I know I'll knock him out and take the WBO world title from him."

Gotta love the Irish
The boys have their UKAD hearing today, if Fury had turned up Saturday and won he could have been stripped of the title. As it is he will probably get a year ban retrospective and be good to go as mandatory.
Tyson claims to have never taken a drug in his life, conveniently forgets he's a coke fiend

also he's suing UKAD
Looks like duco is over. Parker will have a new outfit possibly next year. Dean and Higgins are splitting. This could be good news for parker as a new promoter could bring new ideas, training wise.
Hughie Fury's boss labels Duco 'amateurs' and David Higgins swings back

Rival promoters David Higgins and Frank Warren have entered another war of words as they try to resurrect the WBO mandatory fight between Joseph Parker and Hughie Fury.

Fury's promoter Frank Warren has labelled Duco Events "a bunch of amateurs" and a "nightmare" from their initial dealings.

His damning judgment comes as Duco work their way through a split between co-owners Higgins and Dean Lonergan but need to keep the Parker train rolling.

Hughie Fury's promoter Frank Warren has continued the war of words with Joseph Parker's promoters at Duco Events.

Higgins fired back, saying Warren was "embarrassed" and left with "egg on his face" after Duco Events beat the veteran Brit in the original purse bid.

The bad blood has quickly resurfaced between the two camps after a prolonged but fruitless attempt to get Fury to fight Parker in Auckland last weekend after Duco won the $4.1m purse bid back in February.

Hughie Fury's boss Frank Warren wasn't impressed with Joseph Parker's points win over Razvan Cojanu.

In the end Fury pulled out with a back injury and Romanian Razvan Cojanu stepped in as a last minute replacement. Parker laboured to a unanimous points decision and now Fury is back in his headlights with a mandatory challenge ordered within 120 days.

The fight outside the ring is quickly taking heavyweight proportions.

"They are a nightmare, they are a nightmare. They are a bunch of amateurs," Warren told fight game specialist channel iFLTV on Tuesday.

British heavyweight Hughie Fury is set to resume training as his back injury responds to treatment.

"Duco, they are a total ... all this information they keep putting out to everybody that we are difficult to work with ... they won a purse bid. They came over here, they tried to get us to put the fight on over here ... obviously the bid a lot of money for it and it wasn't going to financially work out for them.

"They are gutted, they don't want to fight Hughie Fury, they have moved heaven and earth not to fight Hughie. But they have got to fight him."

Duco have spoken about trying to sidestep Fury and set up a more lucrative clash with fellow Brit Tony Bellew. They believe that will boost Parker's profile in the UK and make him more marketable for a subsequent clash with Fury.

Warren has no interest in that. He is adamant the mandatory must be fought and wants it sorted out this week.

"Hughie Fury is the mandatory. There will be no other fights in between. They will fight Hughie Fury. That is the bottom line of it," Warren said.

"What I want is to get this fight on asap, so does Peter Fury (Hughies' father and trainer).

"We want to get it on and get that title. Hughie can get that title. We want to get this out of the way this week and get on with it."

That timeline will test Duco as they work through their internal issues. But Higgins was quick to fire up when approached for a response to Warren.

Higgins said initial discussions when the fight was ordered showed the Furys had no interest in coming to New Zealand. When Duco discussed going to the UK, Warren proved difficult.

"Warren wouldn't even confirm that Parker-Fury would be the main event, what month it would be in. He was shifty as hell and wouldn't agree to terms," Higgins said.

"So we went to purse bid and won it and he looked like an amateur. He loses the purse bid to a company from New Zealand ... he got embarrassed, egg on the face. It appears they made up a questionable injury and now we are back to square one."

Higgins said the Auckland promotion would have worked had Fury fronted.

Higgins still sees appeal in the mandatory. Ironically, all the bad blood makes a Parker-Fury clash increasingly easy to promote. In the fight game, there's nothing like a war of words outside the ring to fire up what may happen when the opening bell rings.

"We don't think Hughie is a bad fight. He's beatable and we are not at all worried about him. We will go to England if the terms are right. So it's back to square one," Higgins said.

Like Warren, Higgins understood there were 30 days to sort out the fight or another purse bid would be ordered.

"If Warren agrees to the terms that we think are right and fair, it's on. But if he pisses around again, damn right there will be a purse bid and we will probably win it again and we will be forcing him down here or Samoa or wherever we want ... I could run a Duco show in Manchester."
