Let's say Peter Fury is denied entry into NZ, which is a very real possibility.
I'm not sure Peter Fury will want his son fighting if he can't be in his corner, especially for a title fight. I could see the Fury camp withdrawing from the fight. Hughie is still only 22, and will have many more opportunities in the future.

Hope that doesn't happen, really like this fight.

Looking at Hughie Furys last tweet the are sowing the seed for a withdrawal. Hopefully Peter gets a Visa.

He shouldn't get a Visa. Rules are rules. Sentenced for 12 years due to drug and drug type offenses...he didn't get let into the States to watch Tyson vs Cunningham, and now little Fury is moaning about Revell??? and that there was an apparent leak?? regarding a Visa. Everyone in boxing knows that Peter did time, so it was only a natural thing to ask regarding if a special Visa will allow him to enter NZ. Gotta remember Mike Tyson got denied entry a few years ago.
Sounds like Hughie is having a Moanie.

Fury camp talk up Joseph Parker as they prepare for WBO title fight in NZ

Hughie's Fury camp continue to talk up Joseph Parker on the assumption they are fighting for the WBO belt in New Zealand.

Parker's promoters Duco Events won the purse bid to stage the fight with a preference for April 1 in New Zealand though they have explored options in Samoa, Singapore and Fury's home city of Manchester.

There has still been no official confirmation but Fury's father and trainer, Peter, is preparing for the fight to be in New Zealand and again spoke glowingly of the Kiwi who has risen rapidly to claim one of the four coveted heavyweight belts.

Hughie Fury has the style to make life difficult for Joseph Parker, according to his father and trainer Peter.

"It'll probably be Auckland, yes, I assume so. I've not got the exact details of that but I assume it is," Peter Fury told BoxingScene.com.

Trainer Peter Fiury continues to show plenty of respect for New Zealand's WBO world heavyweight champion Joseph Parker.

"It's a square ring. It doesn't matter where it is. The main thing is to get that belt and bring it back home and that's exactly what we're going to do."

If the fight is in New Zealand Peter Fury will have to convince immigration officials of his worthiness to enter the country after previous serious drug convictions, as reported by Stuff last weekend.

He felt Parker, unbeaten over 20 fights with 18 KOs, had few flaws, making for an exciting fight.

"He's strong isn't he? He's strong, he's athletic, he can go the rounds, he's durable, he's got fast hands. He ticks a lot of the boxes for a heavyweight. He's pretty mobile, so he's a good fighter. Can't really pick holes in him," Peter Fury told BoxingScene.com.

"Hughie needs to be on his a-game to lift that belt. This fight can swing either way, it's a serious fight for anybody."

He suggested Hughie (20-0 with 10 KOs) would fly to New Zealand a fortnight before the fight to acclimatise, aware that he needed to be a very dominant fighter to take the tight off the champion.

"When you're going into their back yard, and it's a close fight, then you can't expect your hand to be lifted. You've got to go there and take it off the champion," he said.

"You need to be a convincing winner anyway. That's what we're looking at anyway. We're not looking at an absolute 100 per cent clean verdict because we're fighting away, he's in his home town, we've got to really look at it in a realistic light. The champion, if it's touch and go, will deserve to keep hold of his belt. That's just the way it is."

But the trainer is adamant Hughie has the power and style to win.

"He [Parker] might think he's fought someone as good [as Hughie], and better, but he hasn't and he will see that on the night. But that's what makes this fight a genuine 50-50 fight. Styles make fights and I can tell you now he'll never have faced anyone like Hughie before.

"Hughie's got a good grounding, a good learning. He's definitely ready, the time is right."

Parker is training in Las Vegas under trainer Kevin Barry and alongside fellow heavyweight Izu Ugonoh whose promising career steps up a notch this weekend when he fights respected American Dominic Breazeale in Alabama.

This is why frank warren is a retard for only making a small bid.

I fully expect the furys to withdraw if Peter doesn't get a visa.
I hope they do withdraw if coach can't get in.
Agree about Warren, should have respected it a little more.
Hughie can't fight for the rest of his career only in the UK...

Same, nobody on here would expect parker to go to the uk without kevin barry.

But this should have been looked into a lot earlier than it has been
Hughie passing up a chance at a title, given his level of opposition to date, just because Peter can't make it? No way. He'll show, with or without Peter. Can Tyson coach?
