It's a secret bid, top bid wins.

The AJ fight won't effect it for a few reasons, first being this is on a subscription channel not a ppv, second is warren and bt need fighters to compete with matchroom. Right now they have big money but not big names, if fury won the wbo he would be the face of their brand.

I am 80% sure they will outbid duco/arum but it depends how confident they are in hughie.
Parker’s Promoter Higgins: The stakes are high
By Ray Wheatley – World of Boxing

David Higgins of Duco Events, who is the co-promoter of WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, will be at WBO Head Office in San Juan, Puerto Rico on February 1 when the purse bid for Parker’s mandatory defense against WBO#2 Hughie Fury will be decided. Frank Warren, who is the promoter of Fury, is expected to be in Puerto Rico also when the envelopes are opened.

“The stakes are very high and it’s a nervous situation,” Higgins said. “You have to try and predict what the revenues are going to be and then bid the most you can. If you bid too much you could lose a lot of money very quickly. And if we don’t bid enough, we lose control. We want to fight in New Zealand because we want home advantage. Last year was an Olympic year and Joseph Parker was the most Googled of any New Zealander.

“I’d like to think there’s a better understanding now of how big it is especially now Joseph is world champion. That last fight was watched in 100 television markets. Nearly every sport you can name receives government support and given the fight would attract international visitors and profile you’d like to think it would be seriously considered. I don’t want to pre-empt anything but we probably will prepare a proposal and see if there’s a willingness to make it happen here in New Zealand.

“If he were to beat Hughie Fury his stocks in the UK go through the roof. That sets up a juicy unification bout with the winner of [Wladimir] Klitschko and Joshua. If Joe fought Joshua it would sell out Wembley – you’re talking 100,000 people and millions globally. That could be as soon as June.

“Alternatively you could have Tyson, Hughie’s cousin, calling for his belt back. Another option would be Wilder. That’s another possible unification. So by the end of this year, provided Joseph keeps winning, he could have been in two worldwide events and be a global superstar. But winning is the key in boxing.”

Don't like hearing things like this from joe's promotors, ok if behind the scenes that's true but say "we don't care where we fight we are confident of a win"

This guy needs to calm himself down a little.

The only way Parkers stock 'goes through the roof' is if he knocks out Fury in the UK. If he struggles past Fury in NZ then his stock will not move. Parker will be the favourite against Fury so he's expected to win.

He's dreaming if he thinks AJ -Parker sells out Wembley if they fight as early as June! AJ -Whyte did supposedly 400-600k PPV sales was only put on at the O2 Arena. There was real hate between those two and the UK public already knew Whyte. Parker is still a hard sell in the U.K. He's a young fresh champ who hasn't looked amazing in his last couple fights. He's never fought in the UK. And for as nice as the guy seems, he lacks personality. His personality seems to be based around being humble. That doesn't sell tickets unless you've already built your name i.e. Wlad.

They need to stop rushing Parker. He's got loads of time on his side. He's not a trash talker so he needs to build his reputation before he can sell tickets in another country. I get a sense that they are rushing him because they're afraid he'll lose before he gets to the pot of gold.
I'm also of the opinion rushing parker isn't the way forward.

I see this hughie fury fight as a real 50-50 affair, I'm going to have to rematch a few fights to make a prediction, but rather than a world title top of the division fight I see it as two very talented young prospects. It reminds me of groves vs DeGeale.

It's another step up again from this to the next level.

It even remains to be seen if anthony joshua is making a mistake fighting klitschko, he's a bit older and a more decorated amateur than these two but at 27 he's still really quite young himself.

I always get the impression Duco have gassed themselves and just see Joe as a walking bag of cash.

In my opinion if Joe does beat hughie *which is far from a given imo, then take a couple of routine defences, keep developing him. The problem if Joe loses is he becomes high risk low reward in the division, and rebuilding him won't be easy.
Yeah, Parker will be the favourite imo but Hughie is a live dog for sure. Normally you see the smaller guy (Parker) is more mobile than the bigger guy (Fury). But Fury is definitely the better mover. It'll be really interesting to see how Parker, first, gets past the longer jab, but also gets close to a guy with quicker feet and head movement. The purse bid is intriguing too. Warren isn't as aggressive as Hearn with his purse bids but he'll have some extra cash now he's signed with BT. I could seriously see Warren winning the bid. I don't know the financial muscle that Duco holds, as you guys probably do, but I know BT is a monster that's eating up everything. They've already got 4 events scheduled this year and I think they'll be more to come.
Yeah, but the problem with Hughie is that he has no power, even against inferior opposition. Parker will definitely catch up with him and throw combos in the pocket. The question is whether or not Hughie can withstand that and frustrate Parker, who can't seem to connect. If that happens, Hughie has a very good chance.

Duco doesn't have the money for a strong bid. They tried to get the Auckland City Council onside with Ruiz just to make it work. And they talked about losing money on the deal. Nah, now that it's a mandatory, and going to purse bid, we're going to Manchester.
After all that is said and done, it's time for Jo to stand up. Offshore will test his balls.
True Sham. Gotta happen sometime. Better with Hughie than AJ.

Parker's Promoter Aims To Win Bid, Bring Fury To New Zealand
By Edward Chaykovsky

David Higgins of Duco Events, who promote WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, is ready for a battle of checkbooks when he travels to Puerto Rico next week to take part in the WBO's official purse bid for the mandatory defense against Hughie Fury.
The sanctioning body ordered a purse bid for February 1, with a minimum bid of $1 million. Fury is promoted by Frank Warren of the UK.
The WBO called for the purse bid after both sides indicated that there were issues in reaching an agreement after two weeks of negotiations.

The fight will take place in the UK or New Zealand - depending on which side wins the purse bid.
"The stakes are very high and it's a nervous situation," Higgins said to Fairfax Media. "You have to try and predict what the revenues are going to be and then bid the most you can. If you bid too much you could lose a lot of money very quickly. And if we don't bid enough we lose control."
"We want to fight in New Zealand because we want home advantage. Last year was an Olympic year and Joseph Parker was the most Googled of any New Zealander - that tells you there's a massive support base there. I'd like to think there's a better understanding now of how big it is especially now Joseph is world champion. That last fight was watched in 100 television market."

Parker captured the vacant WBO world title last month with a close points decision over previously undefeated Andy Ruiz in Auckland. One judge scored the fight a draw and the other two had it 115-113 in favor of Parker

Think with Hughie defence and chin and Parkers seeming lack of power at top level it's not going to be as easy as just catching hughie. He can take a few off parker imo. Joe will need to put sustained pressure on.
