In his prime, I told James he should fight Butterbean in Taranaki, where he could make some good coin. I think he tried to, but it never eventuated. I don't think James backed out of the Nik fight, that's just not him.

The guy has a whole swag of kids doesn't he? Good on him for putting his health first. It's seriously not worth the risk for what was on offer despite the fact I think he had no chance of winning the fight against Nik. If he bottled it I'm sure it would have been easy enough to say he had a back issue like many others have done in the past without getting into the murky world of headaches and turning any future promoters off

Headaches for 3 weeks? For those 3 weeks, even the week of the fight he was saying how he was going to rip Charalampous's head off and goading him. He didn't cover himself in glory leading up to the proposed fight, I think when it came to it he really didn't fancy it.

I'm back in Auckland at this time, running the Auckland marathon the next day. Might be a push to get from ellerslie to the city and then up early for the ferry to the start in devonport in the morning.

Craig, I only see 3 fights and 6 boxers. Who are the other two?
