A good step up fight for Majidov. He doesn't have time to waste so he needs to get a move on with his career.
Dubois-Dinu to collide for WBA interim title

WBA #10 heavyweight Daniel Dubois (15-1, 14 KOs) will return to the ring on Saturday, June 5 with a challenge for the vacant WBA interim heavyweight title against WBA #2 Bogdan Dinu (22-2, 16 KOs).

Promoter Frank Warren stated, “I’m delighted to get this fight over the line for Daniel and really pleased to be working with Greg Cohen on this event. A win for Daniel in this interim title fight will see him become the mandatory challenger for the WBA world title and, if he can get past Dinu on June 5, he is back in contention and right in the mix with the top contenders.”

The venue is TBA.
Is this fool any good? KO'd twice when he stepped up. Fa shoulda targeted him, as Dubois will KO him. Ranked WBA #2.

yeah not sure how he got his ranking...
Good work by Warren to get this fight- puts Dubois back to the top very quick.
Fa or JP should have looked into it
DKP seeking to halt Charr-Lovejoy fight

Hall of Fame boxing promoter Don King has sent a Cease & Desist letter to undefeated heavyweight boxer Christopher Lovejoy, claiming he is under an exclusive promotional agreement with Don King Promotions and not permitted to enter any future fights without King’s consent.

Recent media reports have stated that Lovejoy is currently in Germany and has agreed to face the WBA champion in recess Mahmoud Charr on May 15 in Hamburg, Germany. The letter demands that Lovejoy (19-0, 19 KOs), who had previously announced his retirement from boxing, not participate in the bout with Charr or any other future bout or opponent.

“It is unconscionable, illegal, and unethical for you to participate in this May 15, 2021 bout or any bout without DKP’s expressed, written permission and consent,” the letter from King’s lawyer’s states.

“Participating in any bout without DKP’s expressed written consent is … willfully breaching the Promotional Agreement and exposes those you have entered into agreement with for your services as a professional fighter to extreme legally liability, as they too are aware that you are under contract to DKP.”

The letter goes on to state, “If you have in fact signed to fight Charr as you proclaim and has been reported in these media reports, you have intentionally, willfully, and maliciously breached your exclusive, worldwide promotional agreement with DKP.”

Lovejoy, 37, lives and trains in Las Vegas. All 19 of Lovejoy’s pro fights since February of 2016 have taken place in Tijuana, Mexico.

Trevor Bryan recently won the WBA heavyweight title after Charr disregarded the WBA and was not allowed in the United States due to Homeland Security visa denial.

This guy was meant to face Dave Allen on the undercard of Usyk/Chisora and DKP pulled the plug the night before. Not sure why boxers are still signing to DKP?
Andy Ruiz Ranks His Top-Five Heavyweights
April 23, 2021

Former world heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz was asked to pick the top-five best heavyweights in the world today, and the Mexican/American gave a somewhat surprising top-five. Speaking to PBC on Fox, “The Destroyer” had a couple of names you would expect to see, with one surprise entrant and one clear omission.

Here’s Ruiz’ top-five, in reverse order:

5: Chris Arreola

4: Deontay Wilder

3: Andy Ruiz

2: Anthony Joshua

1: Tyson Fury

Right off the bat, fans are going to pull Ruiz up for placing his upcoming foe, Arreola, at number-five. Arreola has not fought since August of 2019, and that was a loss (a thriller of a fight with Adam Kownacki, but a loss is a loss). You perhaps can’t blame Ruiz for hyping his upcoming dance partner, but plenty of fans feel Ruiz deliberately left out the far more deserving Dillian Whyte. Ruiz and Whyte have of course gone back and forth, the two having nothing but insults for each other. Whyte refuses to give Ruiz and credit; instead calling him a “fake Mexican.” So it’s not surprising Ruiz is returning the favour.

Most fans probably agree with the rest of Ruiz’ list, although to a good many fans, Ruiz has to prove he’s still an elite heavyweight to be worthy of being ranked the third best in the world. Ruiz was as we know, last seen looking nothing but awful in his return fight with Joshua. You are only as good as your last fight in boxing, the saying goes.

Some fans are split when it comes to who should rank at the very top of the pile, Joshua or Fury. But Ruiz goes with “The Gypsy King,” who he says is “A man of God and he’s a Christian like me. We don’t give up.”

Ruiz has to deliver on May 1st when he will face Arreola, or else he will be finished at top level. A win is a must. In fact, would anything other than a dominant win, a stoppage win, be enough for Ruiz?

Ruiz says he is expecting a tough fight from “The Nightmare” –

“He’s a Mexican heavyweight just like me,” Ruiz said of Arreola. “He don’t give up. Me and him are bangers and we like to give the crowd what they want.”

Ruiz fell a long way short of giving his fans what they wanted in the Joshua return. It’s time to put things right.
Andy Ruiz Workout Quotes

Former unified heavyweight champion Andy “The Destroyer” Ruiz Jr. took fans inside his training camp Thursday during a virtual media workout as he prepares to take on Chris “The Nightmare” Arreola on PPV, May 1 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. Ruiz is returning to the ring for the first time since his pair of fights against Anthony Joshua.

Andy Ruiz Jr.

“It’s great to be back. I feel really good right now with all the hard work we’ve put in at the gym. I know Arreola is training hard as well and looking good, so we’re ready for whatever he brings on fight night.

“I chose Eddy because this is where the champions train. Everyone here is dedicated and disciplined. I felt like I needed to make this change and it’s really something that I should have done a long time ago.

“The main thing I’ve learned here is discipline. That’s something you can’t buy, you have to do it on your own. You have to want it.

“I’ve learned so much here. We try to perfect every punch and every movement. I’m not just a fighter who comes forward. I have more abilities. Losing weight is going to let me show more of what I can do.

“Chris and I sparred when I was 16-years-old. We’ve both had the same dreams and the same vision. We’ve had great careers. My dad has always said that me and him were going to fight one day and now it’s right around the corner.

“I come to the gym with a smile on my face now. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m a lot better than I was before. I just have to keep working and stay disciplined. I have to be in the gym, even when I don’t have a fight date. It’s got to be a lifestyle.

“I’ve learned different abilities that I can do during this training camp. I can throw different punches and combinations fighting at this weight. I was always a fighter who could come forward, but now I can switch it up. I can’t wait to show it on May 1.”

Eddy Reynoso, Ruiz Trainer

“The most important thing for Andy is the discipline and his mentality. Those are the main aspects we’ve been working on. From there, we have the building blocks to get better each and every day with everything we want to do

“The talent and intelligence has always been there for Andy. It’s a pleasure to work with him. He’s done everything I’ve asked of him so far.

“I’m really excited for this fight. You’re going to see a new Andy Ruiz Jr. both physically and mentally. You’re going to see him become champion again. I can’t wait for this step on May 1.

“It’s definitely going to be a tough fight against Arreola. These are two fighters who had the same upbringing. There’s going to be nowhere to hide in the ring and they’re going to bring out the best in each other.”
