Parker is definitely in great condition but surely a bit of explosive, heavy weights would benefit his performance and physique. All pro sportsman do them, hopefully he gets a personal trainer in there with KB to do some. Izu definitely does weights its not just his diet. He holds his mass well, with all the cardio diet and weights for him will keep the body weight on.

Man Takam is in Great shape this fight is definitely 50-50........I think the longer it goes the more it will favour Takam I would really love to see JP KO this guy in spectacular fashion and don't get me wrong that could very well happen but i just feel like Takam will get a late stoppage here but I really do hope I'm wrong.

I come from a power background and am really lucky to hang out with Tom walshs power coach (world shot put champ). Tom is probably the most powerful man in world right now. Key thing is speed in heavy lifting with snatch and power cleans type exercises. Time and place for slow heavy weights. Interesting that a nothing Joshua trains una similar way in the gym to our own world champion shot putter.  Gong to start junior fa on this program soon so will Be interestimg to see results over the next year

At boxing alley die. Will keep you guys posted over next week as 2 more sessions planned. Great experience for junior

Thanks markk, please keep us/me informed.  A lot of you are waxing lyrical about Takam's physique (as am I), and are worried for Parker as a result.  I am too, but keep in mind George Arias went 8 rounds with him, and Takam did not stop him.  Arias has been in with top names, but he's small, and is 42 years old.  Also, Povetkin KO'd Takam with one punch in the 10th.

So what I'm saying is that, yes Takam looks great, and is JP best opponent by far to date, he's not all that.

Takam arrives in New Zealand for May 21 showdown with Parker

By Ray Wheatley — World of Boxing

IBF #3 Carlos Takam (33-2-1, 25 KOs) has arrived in Auckland, New Zealand for his IBF elimination bout showdown with IBF #4 Joseph Parker (18-0, 16 KOs) on May 21 at the Vodafone Events Centre, Manukau City. The winner will receive a world title opportunity against the winner of the Anthony Joshua vs. Dominic Breazeale clash on June 25 at the O2 Arena London.

The Cameroon-born and France-based Takam is coming off a eight round decision win over George Arias last November. The 35-year-old Takam’s only losses are to Gregory Tony in 2009 and Alexander Povetkin in 2014. Takam stands 6’3 and weighs 240 pounds

The New Zealand-born and Las Vegas-based Parker is coming off a eight round stoppage over Jason Bergman in January. The 24-year-old Parker has scored a stoppage victory over former champion Frans Botha. He stands 6’4 and also weighs 240 pounds.

Spot on mark, some power lifting will help jP totally. I see AJ doing alot of it. i think some power lifting will help JP fill out even more and become more explosive. Regarding Junior Fa power lifting will be awesome. I cant wait to see the results.
