Now that's smart.  How do you think Fa would go against Browne?  Two sluggers.  Much easier match-up for JP as he'd just outbox him.  With Fa, it's who lands first with Browne.

Fa beats Browne imo. Browne is beyond shot now, he can barely take a punch from most other HWs. I'd like to see some sort of tournament involving Parker, Browne, McKean and Fa where the winners and losers face off. Won't happen of course but not a hell of a lot can happen in these times with all the travel restrictions in place.

Yeah, but there's nothing else to do in 2020, except in NZ and OZ. At least Parker and Fa stay active and make some coin. Next year the landscape will be cleared, and they can get some meaningful fights. I'm sure JP and Fa will make more money than each of their last fights.

If he really believes he can beat JP he should sign the contract win and a title shot becomes a hell of  a lot more realistic
Don't take the fight and lose to a no name for 25k - deductions etc and then kick yourself

markk is NOT gonna like you.  He wants way more than $500,000.  Wonder how much Parker will get?  Probably one to two million.  Fa is no more desperate for the fight than Jr.  And Parker being the favourite, it should be an easy night at the office.  I'm hoping Fa trains the house down, is rid of his health concerns, and pulls the upset.

hey all hope you're well. to be honest we have been waiting for an offer. I ve had about 10 calls from David Higgins and said every time you need to call Lou. the complexity for both junior and Jospeh is that their international tv rights are owned by Eddie and Lou dibilla. so junior accepting a purse would be one thing the next is to buty the tv rights off Dibella. I think the reason Higgins never makes an offer is he flat out isn't in control. only match room are. and unless match room give a waiver then there will be no fight. I doubt Eddie would do that for junior or Dempsey mckeen just in case. Id suggest its just headline chasing. I know what parker gets through higgin and confirmed dzan course . I suspect Eddie wants out of the contract and will use parkers last contract fight to build one of his earners up a place . Higgins has hinted at the same money as winters got for last fight but won't make as offer for above reasons. bit of a joke to pay junior the same as winters. I know what he was paid as he is a dibella figter. good luck to Joe getting a fight as it looks like browne has agreed a purse which is less than winters got in last fight so good deal for the business side. now we need to see if Eddie releases Joe for a one off fight

Cheers Mark - the background wheeling and dealing is very interesting- nothing is ever straight forward in boxing.
Interesting you think EH wants out - I would see him building JP up again and then matching him with his other bubbling under contenders such as Hunter or Hygovic- that's where I see JP value for EH . If JP wins continue if he loses he is a good name on their resume for a title shot.
Probably after what you were saying - the issues with TV rights etc the Browne fight is the easiest to make, surprised Browne taking a low offer but to be honest where else is Browne going to get paid - he really has dropped to a league club level fighter, so maybe he sees it as a last chance before he hangs em up. Fair play to him always comes across as a decent bloke in interviews.
Fa v McKeen?
Winner fights the victor of the JP - Browne fight --- I know TV comes into it again but if USA and UK are still Coronafied it may be worth it.

Good to hear from you again, markk. I agree with bart. Eddie needs to match JP with one of his top fighters and then ride the horse that wins.

On another note, with nothing going on in the world of boxing, a JP/Fa fight would sell very well internationally, if only because there's nothing else for boxing fans. Forget what Eddie, Mr Higgins thinks of Jr. The fight itself would sell well.

BTW, if Mr Higgins called you 10 times, what does he want if Eddie is the decision maker? Carry the offer back to Eddie? To me, Jr says what he wants for the fight, and Eddie/Mr Higgins calls when they are ready to offer. Everything else is just noise.

he is just trying to get Eddie to let him fight off contract by making noise so they can get a win and an earn. the international tv rights are big which is why Eddie may not let him off.

If that's the case, he should be calling Eddie, not you.

Thanks for all that Markk. Strange you mention Browne accepting what sounds like a lowish offer considering he's come out and admitted that he's looking for big purses and won't be fighting in Australia again. Guess he must have nothing else on the table and desperately needs the money....

I think its safe to say Browne has nothing else on the table or down the line.
If he doesn't take this opportunity with JP then the future is bouts with Gallen etc
Browne still has a fragment of a name internationally even after TKO by Dave Allen- a bout which I felt for both fighters, a career highlight for Allen and Browne really looked like he had picked himself up after Dillian KTFO . A great shot to the body will do that though.

Yeah he was meant to face Wallin/Davtaev before coronavirus took over the world so once the world gets back to normal, he'll have plenty of options on the table again as an opponent starting with Parker I guess....
Reply
Never heard of Davtaev.  But he's got a great record, 20-0 with 19 KO's.  How come Browne gets these good fights, but not Parker?  Either they're scared of Parker (not) or bad promoter (not).  You'd think they'd want Parker's ranking.
