Joseph Parker
He'll need to be fighting real fighters to get to the top kiwi, instead of easybeats and old guys as Mantz was saying at weighin. Nothing has been a challenge for him yet no matter how often he fights. His confidence is growing and that just might be a problem to him when he moves out of this at-home ego trip. Fighting as often as he is here at home is basically designed to rack up his ko record and milk the at home public. Can't wait to see how he handles getting hurt, it is the hurt game, but Jo has avoided the hurt merchants and following him won't get exciting until he engages in more threatening competition. That's about it from me...lol

I know Meehan was old, but that fight did show the quality of Parker

KB does recognize that potential - as do many boxing people.

Yes - he must step up.

But he is Boxrec number 9. They do that because they see what he is becoming

Time will tell all

He's done all his prep work successfully, which will include Martz and Bergman. All this is preparation. Gotta do the ground work. He's changed his body, and fought all the journeymen. As he says, it's a marathon, not a sprint.

Starting in April, or mid year, he starts his run. Top ten guys leading to a title IF all goes well.

Backup according to Kevin is a 18-0 6ft 7 fighter if the April 16 fight doesn't go ahead for a "top 10 fighter".

So who is 18-0 and 6ft 7?

Matteo Modugno- http://boxrec.com/boxer/531388

NakiFan, could this be your guy?  Matteo Modugmo from Milan, Italy  http://boxrec.com/boxer/531388.  Has never been out of Italy.  Toughest opponent was Paolo Vidov.  Looks like Baby Joseph will be eating pasta soon.

They were also looking at this guy, Gjergjaj.  He's 28-0.  Don't know how tall he is:

Interesting that the former HW boxer interviewing Sharidan said that Joshua and Parker are the
"future of the division".

We live in hope.

...oops, NakiFan, just saw that you already named Matteo, the 18-0, 6'7" possible opponent. My bad. So he's the replacement if Team Parker doesn't get who they want. I gotta be thinking it's Ustinov. Tall, ranked, and very willing to come Down Under. The fight will be held in Christchurch April 17th. Love how Team Parker is planning ahead.

Yep - Ustinov seems likely

Very marketable fight

Parker camp must think they can put him away. Could be tough. But doable.
