Parker vs Joyce Sept. 24th

Yes indeed but 12 rounds v aa high powered engine like JJ is tricky- there is going to be quite a few bite down moments for JP in this fight and just hoping he gets through them with movement and punches not covering up on the ropes as JJ will keep banging- JJ varies his work as well - cover your head and he targets the ribs - so for me movement is key.
So what if JP wins on the back foot- fighting off the back foot is a skill its not running as casuals call it. Fighters like JJ like to goad a back foot boxer to stand still and trade by calling them chicken or runners etc just to make the fight favour their strengths... its all shite JP needs to stick to whatever game plan Andy Lee comes up with as that man is a guru.
Also there is a reason Frank wanted a one sided rematch clause - you don't do that if your 100% confident in your fighter. Rematch clauses should be illegal especially for non title fights, just holds up the sport.

Movement, definitely but also speed. Throw your combinations on the front foot, and then get outta there. If he gets near the ropes, circle. Keep hitting him as he's open, but don't stand there and admire your shots. Break him down, and maybe JP may even stop him late, if only by the accumulation of punches. This is a relatively easy fight for JP if he has the right game plan, and Andy Lee should help him with that.

I thought Dubois was ahead on the scorecard and dominating JJ until he was stopped. I was a bit shocked how it ended. So if Dubois can go 10 rounds with him with little movement, JP should be all right.

Dubois got some shots in without fully committing or hurting JJ, obviously he was working to a plan of building a lead. JJ jab is a weapon so hit and move is the key
JP is better than DD

JP is more like Jennings than other fighters JJ fought, and he was the only one to go the distance against JJ. Jennings has speed and movement like JP, but less power than JP. So JP needs to hurt JJ while building up points each round.

Yes, JJ has a great jab, so JP has got to beat him to the punch, tag him, and get out.

Joyce-Parker now for WBO interim title

The WBO Championship Committee has ruled that the September 24 clash between heavyweights Joe Joyce and Joseph Parker in Manchester, England, will now be for the WBO interim heavyweight championship. The decision was made in response to a request from Queensberry Promotions on behalf of current WBO #1 contender Joyce.

The WBO Committee notes that the organization’s heavyweight championship has only been at stake on two occasions (Oleksandr Usyk/Anthony Joshua bouts) over the last two years. With Usyk headed toward a probable fight with Tyson Fury in 2023, the activity in the division has been significantly low. Therefore, an interim title is in the best interests in the division for the fighters, the fans, and the WBO.

JP still has to win twice though
Rematch clauses should be outlawed in non title fights- gives the A sider (as Warren calls JJ) too much power

True. JP had no choice though, if he wanted the fight. Title aside, it's two great fights for JP against quality opposition. If Fury beats Usyk, he retires. I do think Fury wins. Be interesting if JJ/JP split their fights. Think WBO would ask for a third fight?
