Yep, a name opponent with low risk, and revenge. Perfect.

To wait or not to wait
29 April 2025 That's the question for boxer Joseph Parker following confirmation of the undisputed heavyweight title fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois in July. The Kiwi-Samoan was set to challenge Dubois for the IBF title in February, before an illness forced the Brit to withdraw. Parker's manager David Higgins says there's talk over whether his charge should look for another opponent or hold off to challenge the undisputed bout's victor.

def should fight - who knows how long this could draw out... not sure about rematch clauses surely Usyk would be entitled to one but DDD no way
Then injuries to winner ...rest needed etc might take a year to sort

Agree. Fight. Will be interesting to see if he fights all comers, or plays it smart and fights "easier" opponents. Would be good for him to fight on the July undercard and steal the show.

Why would jp give Bakole a rematch?
Bakole had a career high payday and hetook it. Needs to rebuild himself not get another leg up. I would like Whyte rematch for jp as Whyte done but has not lost continuous like jj who would be no gain. Jp may end up having at least 2 fights before a title shot
I think it's admirable that JP wants to rematch his losses. Like you say, there's nothing in it to fight JJ, but with Whyte and JJ there is. Bakole had his chance, and got ko'd. Still, would like him to fight Kabayel, just because he's the best available. Now, if he beat Kabayel, would he be the interim champ in two divisions??? Then maybe fight Pulev for a third division "interim."
