Joseph Parker
If JP developed some power and ko'd DDD, he'd have some charisma. He's just not very exciting, and when he talks it's without any intimidation. DDD just can't talk.

That would be in the ring & would certainly create a buzz.

I think sometimes what they do in the ring creates the charisma. Like Mike Tyson. Or Tua. Who do you think is charisma now?

As I mentioned, my comment was referencing them outside the ring. Charisma is subjective. Some fighters just have that presence that make you pay attention. It's funny you mention Tyson though because his fight with Jake Paul seemed to create a huge buzz among casuals. I had neighbours throwing watch parties, I didn't see anything else like that for a boxing event last year.

Charisma IS subjective, but people usually agree on who has it and who doesn't. What I'm saying is that sometimes what happens in the ring creates charisma for the person who's then out of the ring. Like Tyson. That's why I was thinking that if JP started showing some power and ko'ing people, there would be a buzz about him when people are around him. I think that Mayweather has charisma, even without the power, probably because things happen when he is around, good and bad.

I agree that what happens in the ring can create charisma. My initial comment was referencing Dubois & Parker at the press conference. Personally I found what they were saying & how they were saying very dull. For me, someone like Usyk is naturally charismatic. You could say the same for Fury but I never enjoyed his shtick. I like Opetaia's no nonsense approach. Naoya Inoue would be another one for me, whereas I find Bam Rodriguez very dull outside the ring.

JP was dull at the press conference? He had little time to talk, as they all did, but I thought he came across strong and direct to DDD's inability to articulate and giggly attitude. I think that's the best attitude JP has had leading up to a fight. I hope it translates into a stellar performance. I don't think any of the above have much charisma, other than bad behaviour from Fury which isn't charisma. If I rate their charisma in relation to a, say Ali, they would have no charisma.
