One angle I forgot to mention for Parker’s WBO title path (not necessarily against Usyk) is the impact of the new Dana White/Turki Alalshikh/TKO boxing league. They seem intent on phasing out sanctioning bodies in favor of one belt per division, with the Ring title filling that role—potentially replaced later by Alalshikh’s undisputed belt. If Alalshikh is pulling the rug out from under sanctioning bodies and promoters, Usyk vacating the WBO belt might not matter much to the Saudis since he already holds the Ring title. Just another wrinkle in this evolving situation.
