A lot of talk that he too heavy but if done correctly hopefully he will retain speed and stamina. I think the UK boxing experts do not take into account the Polynesian genetics and how the natural progression to weight gain happens.. JP has managed to gain mostly muscle and not too much fat. I hope he just doesn't intend to trade with Wardley but set up shots with his feints and level changes he has been doing since teaming up with Lee. Walking Wardley onto a right hand (possibly uppercut) with a quick left hook to finish and the ref steps in... probably round 4-5

Looks like JP has developed thickness rather than cut in his muscles, which lends itself to strength. No abs. I'm waiting to see if his added weight and training with Lee has increased his power without hurting his speed. We haven't seen a chance to see it yet, as he KO'd Bakole with his trademark skip punch.
Yeah, don't trade with him. That's Wardley's game. I remember Sugar Ray Leonard going mano mano with Duran to prove something to himself, and he lost. Use speed and power when it presents itself Joe, and you'll stop him inside the distance.

Actually nervous but confident... strange mix but can't shake the dreaded what if wardley lands a hail mary

This should be a walk in the park for JP. Wardley was behind on the cards for Wardley/Clarke 1 and Huni for almost the entire fight before he pulled it out. And those guys aren't even top 10. But like you, Wardley could land a hail mary. I'm hoping JP has renewed power and speed to stop him in the middle rounds.
