RE: Joseph Parker - diehard - 01-24-2016 True, they've moved from top 10 to top 20. Both Minto and Tupou were top 15 at the time, so sometimes the actual ranking is a bit arbitrary. But Fedosov is top ten in a couple of alphabets. 7th in the WBA and WBO. 14th in IBF. He or Takam would be OK. RE: Joseph Parker - Kiwi - 01-24-2016 I just watched Fedosov vs Dennis and I tell you - Fedosov will be a real challenge. Very tough and strong fighter. No wonder he is ranked in those alphabets. -Kiwi RE: Joseph Parker - NakiFan - 01-24-2016 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mR81uMdL754 Here is the full fight of Fedosov vs Dennis. He's a tough little fulla alright. Uses a overhand left and right as his main weapons. Soaked up loads of jabs as he was trying to get in close... He's probably looking to step up to fight a higher ranked opponent after getting a RTD when he fought Jennings. RE: Joseph Parker - james5000 - 01-24-2016 I had never actually seen Fedosov vs Jennings just watched it and he did much better thsn i expected. Fedosov is really tough and his body punching is great. He doesn't seem to have 1 punch power but he can really hurt when he keeps landing. I actually like him for Parkers next fight, he's clearly much better than anyone Joe has fought but he falls short at the elite level. Perfect learning fight and I reckon he could really test Joe. Takam actually seems a step too far IMO he is elite level. Definitely a good contender, but if they want a world title this year they should go for it. RE: Joseph Parker - Kiwi - 01-24-2016 I think Takam and this guy are actually quite close to each other on the danger level Actually I kinda prefer Takam -Kiwi RE: Joseph Parker - james5000 - 01-24-2016 (01-24-2016, 09:58 PM)Kiwi Wrote: I think Takam and this guy are actually quite close to each other on the danger level Takam seems a fair bit slicker to me, probably similar power though RE: Joseph Parker - Kiwi - 01-24-2016 Nah. I really think if they are going to take on this level of fighter, they might as well go for a real big gun. Not enough reward for the risk with this guy Should just fight a Top-5 man and be done with it. I don't like this guy at all - and I hope they don't regret it. A real risk -Kiwi RE: Joseph Parker - diehard - 01-24-2016 If Team Parker says they are going to go for it, they need to fight whoever is available in the top ten. Doesn't really matter who it is, whoever will get Parker an eliminator. To my mind, given how they are ranked in the alphabets, it's the IBF or WBO. Takam or Fedosov fit the bill. RE: Joseph Parker - diehard - 01-24-2016 Tyson Fury's trainer rates Joseph Parker as seventh-best heavyweight in world Joseph Parker has beaten Jason Bergman by TKO after the ref called a end to the fight in the eighth round. Kiwi heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker rates among the top 10 boxers in the world, according to the trainer of dual champion Tyson Fury. Peter Fury, who is also Tyson's uncle, was asked by Sky Sports before Parker's knockout victory over Jason Bergman in Samoa to pick his top 10 fighters in the heavyweight division. Joseph Parker, on his way to a TKO win over Jason Bergman, has been rated a top-10 heavyweight by Tyson Fury's trainer. He rated the man his nephew beat for the WBA Super and WBO titles, Wladimir Klitschko, as the second best in the world, with Parker coming in seventh. His comment on Parker said the New Zealander had a bright future. READ MORE: *Parker eyes world title shot *Parker's learning curve *Joshua 'running scared' of Parker *Parker too strong in Samoa Peter Fury (right), the uncle and trainer of Tyson Fury, says Joseph Parker is the seventh-best heavyweight in the world. REUTERS Peter Fury (right), the uncle and trainer of Tyson Fury, says Joseph Parker is the seventh-best heavyweight in the world. "I like him. He's a promising fighter and is still an unknown quantity. "We are going to see more of him and it'll be interesting to see how good he is." After the piece was published, Parker celebrated his Samoan excursion in dominant style as he overpowered Bergman with an eighth-round TKO in Apia. Before the fight, Duco Events promoter Dean Lonergan said English star Anthony Joshua was running scared of Parker as he looked to manoeuvre the New Zealand prospect into a position to challenge for the world heavyweight title. Joshua and Parker, ranked second and third in the WBO respectively, are regarded as two of the most exciting fighters in the division and are seemingly on a collision course for the world title. The No 1 challenger position is up for grabs after Charles Martin vacated the spot by beating Vyacheslav Glazkov to claim the IBF crown in New York last week. It has set up the mouth-watering prospect of a showdown between Parker and Joshua, but Lonergan said the former Olympic champion wanted no piece of the fast-fisted Kiwi. "We desperately want to fight Joshua, we've put challenges to him," Lonergan said. "I was in England two months ago, I was trying to get a meeting through my boxing connections who know the Hearn camp intimately. Eddie Hearn (Joshua's promoter) turned me down flat." Peter Fury was of the opinion that Parker was the better fighter, not even rating Joshua in his top 10. "I don't think he's top 10 at the moment - he has a way to go yet. "He's at British level at the moment and that's no bad thing. "If you look at where Tyson was when he won that British title in 2011 and look at where we are now, that's five years' difference. I think Joshua is about two years away from the top." No wonder Joshua is running scared then. Peter Fury's top 10: 1. Tyson Fury 2. Wladimir Klitschko 3. Deontay Wilder 4. Luis Ortiz 5. Charles Martin 6. Alexander Povetkin 7. Joseph Parker 8. Kubrat Pulev 9. Hughie Fury 10.
