I rated him higher than Parker when they were together. Now? Just have to wait and see if he's still got it, as he was inactive for about a year before his last fight.

Massive risk taking here from Izu for what will be little reward if he wins. Hope he isn't going the journeyman route

The only way he could be over-rated is if he fought mediocre opposition and won to pad his record. There WAS some of that with Mr Higgins. Breazeale was his litmus test as he stepped up. Izu almost had him outta there, but he didn't. Until he gassed, he certainly showed he belonged with the elite. Now, we'll see.
Lazy fighter? More inactive than lazy. Why do you say he's lazy? I think it's Demirezen who is choosing the wrong opponent. 10 wins, 10KO's, and he chooses Izu at this stage in his career? Wrong move.

Yeah I meant lazy in the fact that he's had only 19 fights in 9 years, overated in that the only fighter of any note he's fought is Breazelle (who himself has only fought Joshua of any note) and got beat.

Love him or hate him, Mr Higgins got Izu fights, and got him ranked in the top 10. And KB kept him busy with quality sparring from Parker. After he left them, went with Haymon, and fought Breazeale, he packed it up for a year. Should have stayed with Mr Higgins and KB, as KB was looking to focus more on him. Now, he seems like he's going solo.

I think it says more about the governing bodies ranking system than how good Izu is or was. On merit and opposition, he should never have been top 25.
