Nothing against the guy, he looks good, but how is he WBA super middleweight champ after only 4 fights?

He only holds an interim title so not a 'world champion', he looks really good though and was a brilliant amateur. I think his record is reported to be something crazy like 132-2. I think he will win a world title. Lomachenko won a WBO world title in his 3rd fight after challenging but losing for one in his 2nd fight. I've got no problem with top amateur boxers with long amateur boxing careers fighting for world tittles early into their pro careers, they certainly deserve it more than a guy who's made it to 15-0 without fighting anybody in the top 100 which seems to happen far more often.

Loma was the exception. But after 4 fights? But I didn't know about his amateur record. Good on him for going for it. He demolished his last opponent, who was ranked#11. I'll keep an eye on him now.

You know my take on rankings. No one should be in the top 10 until they beat someone in the top 10.

Morrell batters Gavronski, Montiel KOs Kirkland

In a non-title bout, WBA interim super middleweight champion David Morrell Jr. (4-0, 3 KOs) scored a brutal third round TKO over WBA #11 Mike Gavronski (26-4-1, 16 KOs) on Saturday night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. 50:1 favorite Morrell teed off on Gravonski immediately and dropped him at the end of round one. After more punishment in rounds two and three, referee Jack Reiss waved it off at 2:45 of round three. The bout was switched from a world title defense to a 170lb limit non-title ten-rounder at the last minute.

Craig, something Morrell and Loma have in common:

396 wins and 1 loss
Lomachenko is one of the most successful amateur boxers of all time, possessing a record of 396 wins and 1 loss, with that loss avenged twice.
