Anthony Joshua
Inferno might have a hissy fit if he reads that article!

Im not sure if JP is far more advanced than AJ at this stage, more advanced at the same age perhaps

Its easy to forget that Joseph is only 24 and has been bought along very quickly .
Wilders only really credible opponent has been Stiverne and AJ is still yet to fight anyone credible

Hopefully Joseph still has the ability to grow and improve his trade so he can compete with the big boys when the time comes

It is possible for him to do this. Mike Tyson was at 400 mil of prize fighting money and with the money in the uk and u.s up for grabs Hearn could make it happen. It won't surprise me if he does, a couple of big endorsements and some super star fights in the future could pump his net woth through the roof.

OPINION: Anthony Joshua fans in the United Kingdom puffed their chests out just a little bit further on Sunday morning [NZ time] as their glamour boy did another job on another opponent.

Joshua extended his professional boxing record to 18 wins, all by the way of KO.

He stopped American Eric Molina in the third round with a decent right.

Many pundits in the UK have Joshua as top dog and then daylight next in the heavyweight division.

Following the victory over Molina they sharpened their pencils a little more as they continued to plot his future, which in their eyes is world dominance in the years to come.

They are falling over themselves in the race to get on the Joshua bandwagon.

But have they been blinded yet again by his beach muscles and the bright lights that are British boxing hype?

Have we really learned any more about Joshua following the demolition of Molina?

Molina was yet another opponent happy to run through his promotional duties, step into the ring, take a couple of punches, and then depart with his appearance fee.

At no point did he look interested as he stood on the outside throwing wild punches in blind hope he may get lucky and connect with one.

Many in the UK look down their nose at the WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker as if he is some sort of little kid pretending to be a boxer.

Parker's 22 win-zero loss record has been treated with disdain by some who think it is inflated with wins over boxing nobodies.

But Joshua's opponents to date have been mugs.

Molina is second rate, as have the other 17 fighters in the professional ranks who have stepped into the ring with Joshua.

We haven't yet seen him take on a Carlos Takam or Andy Ruiz Jr who Parker has confronted.

Of Molina's 28 bouts leading into his showdown with Joshua he had only come up against two fighters of any note, Chris Areolla and Deontay Wilder.

Molina was knocked out inside one round against Areolla, and he made it to the fourth round before Wilder disposed of him.

Joshua's round three knockout is nothing to get excited about. He has potential but it is hard to gauge if that will lead to anything.

He was effectively handed the IBF title by Charles Martin who had little interest in mixing it to provide a genuine threat.

It is also a surprise Joshua's indifferent display against Dillan Whyte in December last year didn't raise more concerns with those in the UK.

Joshua tired as the fight went on which is only natural given how much muscle he is carrying,

The British boxer is unlikely to be able to bank on an early knockout when he comes head-to-head with Wladimir Klitschko in April.

Joshua hasn't been required to go past seven rounds to date but we are likely to see how he can handle rounds 10, 11, and 12 against Klitschko.

Forget what they say in the UK, Joseph Parker is far more advanced than Anthony Joshua at this stage, at least.

Jesus, is this what you're being fed in NZ?

Many pundits in the U.K. believe AJ is top dog? Haha! I think you'll find most either think it's up for grabs now Fury has gone or they have Wilder as number one or Ortiz who is being portrayed as the danger man now Hearn has signed him.
Many look down their nose at Parker?! WTF. If many in the UK look down their nose at Parker why do most UK boxing heads want him to fight AJ. They respect his skill and believe he would be a great fight for AJ win or lose.
Forget what they say in the UK, Parker is FAR more advanced... wow. 1. Nobody is saying AJ is far superior. There's only one article I've seen that suggest either guy is far superior and it's this one. 2. If you asked 100 boxing journalists and experts most would pick AJ to beat Parker.

Don't fall for the anti AJ, anti UK rhetoric.

I had to google Logan Savory to find out who he was. Looks like he's just another casual boxing fan with an opinion (much like me Smile )

I agree that article is nonsense.

Logan Savory is a reporter for the Southland times.

Apart from the last sentence of the article which is debateable , Id have to agree with nearly everything he has to say.

Are the only articles that are real the ones that say no ones gonna beat AJ for ten years and hes going to make a billion dollars?

It's hard to read 99% of nz media's boxing reports as 99% of journos don't know near enough about how boxing works so simply regurgitate everything Duco tells them as gospel. Maybe it's because they are fearful of being cut off by Duco if they say something negative? Maybe they want to be seen as patriotic? Maybe they just haven't got a clue?
