Just saw the Opetaia/Briedis second fight again. Opetaia is there to be hit, and struggled in the later rounds just like in their first fight. If Nyika can take him deep and rough him up, he's in with a chance. Of course, Nyika has never gone beyond 6 rounds, so it'll be a challenge.

Yeah I think Nyika will have some success but Opetia is battle hardened and I think that will show through.
A good performance by Nyika will get him more top level fights- so unless he is KO'd badly early its a win/win

$40 for this fight, and the main event starts at midnite? No thank you. Would be nice if NZ had it on SKY, or even free to air since it's a Kiwi fighting for the title. The undercard isn't even that good.

I think a fight against Opetaia is coming too soon for Nyika but I credit him for stepping up when presented with the opportunity. I think he has the talent & ability to pull the upset but like Bart said, Opetaia is battle hardened & has that world class experience. I like to see fighters fast tracked but in this situation I would have preferred Nyika to have had a few more fights & seasoning before clashing with a beast such as Opetaia.

Yeah but I suppose in Nyika case he could take 3-4 more fights and possibly lose one before getting a title shot. One has been handed to him and he has taken it.
A huge mountain to climb in Opetaia but he has skills and hopefully a great game plan

This could possibly be his only opportunity to fight for a belt in his career, so grab it with both hands. Yep, he'd need a great game plan. Opetaia looked ordinary against Briedis, but Nyika isn't Briedis. I think Nyika can hurt Opetaia, but Opetaia is quite resilient.
