If @hughiefury doesn't sign before 12pm UK time tomorrow, WBO as requested will consider sanctioning a voluntary for @joeboxerparker

that's a bit weird. I thought the contract was done and dusted. It'd be interesting to know what the issues are. It can't be money or venue

Likely either Peter Fury not allowed in the country, or UKAD related.

I thought contract was already valid, what issues could there be other than Peter Fury declined entry..?

"We have contacted @Shamrock for the voluntary title shot of our WBO belt. Yet to hear back...he's still in the toilet dealing with his morning obligations.

WBO rankings for voluntary.
1. David Haye 2. Hughie Fury 3. Jarrell Miller 4. Andy Ruiz 5. David Price 6. Christian Hammer 7. Kubrat Pulev 8. Edmund Gerber 9. Andrey Fedosov 10. Izuagbe Ugonoh 11. Tom Schwarz 12. Andriy Rudenko 13. Dillian Whyte 14. Razvan Cojanu 15. Kyotaro Fujimoto Not much to choose from. Miller is dangerous, can't see that fight being made. If the fight falls through you'd think they'd be targeting Wilder after the voluntary, so I'd imagine they will be going after a taller guy for JP's next fight. The guys available that are as tall, or taller than Parker are: David Price - is coming off a loss. Miller - dangerous, can't see JP fighting him. Some guy called Izu - fighting this weekend and I'm sure JP won't be fighting Izu in a voluntary. Tom Schwarz - is 17-0, almost 6'6 but has fought nobody of note. Dillian Whyte - would be a good fight I guess. Not great prep for Wilder though. Razvan Cojanu - tall guy but lost to nobody's. Pulev - good fight but not sure Pulev would take it. Yeah, not much to choose from. |
