Hope he actually plans on getting him fights and not just sign him to keep him away from AJ.

He will talk up a potential matchup but I think he would like to try and control both sides of the division.

Carlos Takam to fight Duhaupas fro WBC Silver, not Ortiz

By Marco Bratusch

At Friday’s WBC bid held at sanctioning body’s offices in New York – along with the Povetkin-Stiverne bid for WBC interim title – the mandatory bid for Johann Duhaupas’ WBC Silver heavyweight title has also been held, with the winning promoter OPI Since ’82 offering $235.000 to earn the right to stage the fight.

Early this week it was said that Cameroon-born Carlos Takam (33-3-1, 25 KOs) had agreed to fight Cuban southpaw Luis Ortiz (25-0, 22 KOs) on November 12th in Monte Carlo, Monaco, on a card promoted by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing and Sky Sport UK to broadcast. It’s now been clarified that the 35-years-old Takam – who lost on points last May to New Zealander Joseph Parker for an IBF eliminator – will not take part in the show in Monte Carlo.

OPI since ’82 manager Christian Cherchi clears the situation up: “We sit down last Thursday with Takam’s manager Joseph Jermain and considered that there was little time left to prepare accurately for a top-class southpaw opponent as Luis Ortiz. That’s why we’ve finally decided to partecipate at Friday’s purse bid for Duhaupas’ WBC Silver belt. The sanctioning body’s also agreed that considering the Takam’s pedigree purses will be split 65-35% in favour of the Champion and not 70-30% as normally is. It will be a good fight between two French heavyweights for an important belt as WBC Silver is. We look forward to stage the fight in French in December 2016, or in February 2017 at the latest.”

In a minor upset, Johann “Reptile” Duhaupas (34-3, 21 KOs) won the vacant belt last April in Helsinki, Finland, stopping the former undefeated Finn Robert Helenius (23-1, 14 KOs) in round 6.

I hope he uses Ortiz as a shield to keep anyone dangerous away from joshua

"You want the AJ fight, you have to go through Ortiz first"

Then joshua can fight 22 bums and retire 50-0 (50) undefeated champion

That's what I hope

Careful, you'll get Shamrock worked up saying that.

I want to be invited to Sham's lounge to see who he cheers for when AJ fights Klit? Would literally split him in half!

Die, the better scenario for the future is for AJ to take the honors.. but I would personally wish that Wladimir could reinvent himself. AJ and JP arnt freakish like Fury, that guy was a huge mauled with enough nous to use his advantages.

I agree, Sham. If Klit wins, I don't see Parker facing him, at least not anytime soon. He may retire. If AJ wins, he honours his mandatory by March. Here's an article about Hearn and the AJ/Klit fight:

You don't think Parker will take the March fight if Wlad wins? You think he'd turn down the chance to unify if he beat Ruiz?

What exactly happens in terms of Parkers IBF ranking if he does get the WBO Belt?
