Davis vs. Barrios
Showtime PPV
Four-time world champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (24-0, 23 KOs) challenges WBA super lightweight champion Mario “El Azteca” Barrios (26-0, 17 KOs) at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. With a victory, Davis would hold world championships in three different divisions simultaneously, a feat only accomplished by a few fighters in history, including Henry Armstrong and Canelo Alvarez.

Really good fights today, especially the top two. Davis is one of my favourites. And it's raining in NZ. Time to watch boxing!

Jealous!  Still, you can watch the boxing while it's sunshiney outside.  But beware of the glare on your tv.

Oh, and African Monkey, being in Wellington, I'm in Level 2.  Double Jealous!

Davis dethrones Barrios in eleven

Tank now simultaneously holds versions of the WBA 130, 135 and 140 pound belts.
WBA super featherweight and lightweight world champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (25-0, 24 KOs) dethroned previously undefeated WBA super lightweight champion Mario “El Azteca” Barrios (26-1, 17 KOs) by eleventh round TKO on Saturday night at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Close disciplined fight until round eight when Davis dropped Barrios twice. First with a right hook, then with a straight left. Barrios recovered well in round nine. A body shot put Barrios down again in round eleven and the bout was stopped soon after. Time was 2:13.
