Sad. A mis-match.

Who would you suggest as a suitable opponent for Nyika in his return bout, six months after suffering a brutal knockout loss — the first defeat of his career?

Someone better than Nik the Greek but not as good as Opetaia. Someone international. Since it'll be in Oz, perhaps and Aussie.

Well, he's ranked #13 in the IBF, so one of these guys. Nik the Greek is a club fighter, and I love his competitiveness, but he needs to "try" and fight a ranked fighter in the IBF.

Nik is ranked #366 as a heavyweight. BUT, he's only been ko'd once in six losses, and he went the distance against Opetaia.

Do you really think any of those guys are going to travel to Australia to fight Nyika, who is the one coming off a knockout loss? Nyika is part of the undercard. What do you think they are offering for his come back opponent? Nyika could only get a Caparello (Australian) level opponent when he headlined.

So again I ask you, who's your suggestion that's taking the offer?

I don't have a fighter in mind, nor do I know the money on offer as I'm not a promoter or matchmaker. How about we forget the top IBF fighters and look at the top 100. I don't have anyone in mind in the top 100, but surely one of them would like to travel to OZ to fight a guy who fought for the cruiser belt and make a name for himself. They also have nice beaches, pretty women, and Mr Higgins would treat them well. I remember Mr Higgins saying that he and JP went through the top 20 fighters and asked them to fight JP a number of years ago. I also remember Chris Martin (RIP) doing the same thing for Steve Heremaia. It could also be that a world ranked #366 fighter in Nik is the only one who would take the fight, but I doubt it.

You seem to double down on wanting Nik. Why? Is he the ONLY one that would take this fight for the money? My heart is with Nik. I don't want him to get ko'd in the first few rounds when he's had a good career up to this point. Even Nyika disparaged him, saying he should retire if he loses to him.
