Lightweight world scene

The fight I want to see most next in the lightweight division is Lomachenko vs Davis.

I can see Top Rank steering Loma towards the Emanuel Navarrete vs Denys Berinchyk winner instead, especially if Shakur Stevenson doesn't resign with them. The Navarrete vs Berinchyk fight is only a week after Loma's & they are close to the same schedule, where as Shakur & Tank have fights still upcoming in June & July. There'll also be a nice little revenge story attached should Navarrete defeat Loma's fellow Ukrainian countryman Berinchyk.

Stevenson might also have a mandatory to fulfil shortly.

Tank has said he wants to fight Loma after his bout with Frank Martin but that fight has already been talk about for 7 years so who knows if it actually happens next.

William Zepeda is in the drivers seat & can basically decide what belt he wants a shot at.

Lightweight is currently in a healthy state with fighters like Raymond Muratalla, Andy Cruz, Keyshawn Davis, Albert Batyrgaziev & Edwin De Los Santos waiting in the wings. There is also the possibility of fighters like Joe Cordina & O’Shaquie Foster moving up in the near future.

Let's see how 135 plays out.

#1 contender for the IBF, WBC & WBA William "Camaron" Zepeda will be back in the ring on July 6th against current WBC #8 lightweight Giovanni Cabrera.

WBC Lightweight Champion Shakur Stevenson will return also on July 6th against current WBC #6 lightweight Artem Harutyunyan, who ran fellow lightweight contender Frank Martin extremely close in his last fight.

WBA Lightweight Champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis returns on June 15th after almost 14 months out of the ring to face unbeaten #2 WBA contender Frank Martin.

WBO #5 Keyshawn Davis will fight WBO #6 Miguel Madueno on the Stevenson vs Harutyunyan July 6th undercard.

Emanuel Navarrete vs Denys Berinchyk, for the vacant WBO Lightweight Championship.

I've got it a draw.

Sorry. Thought Navarette was one of your boyz. Sounded like it was a good fight.

One of my boyz? Not sure where you got that idea. One of Top Ranks boyz more like. It was a very sloppy fight to watch.

My bad. Probably just because you mentioned the fight. I leap to erroneous conclusions sometimes. BUT, I'll keep tabs on the Top Rank fighters!

Shakur Stevenson might get his unification now that Denys Berinchyk won. I'm not sure Top Rank will want to put Lomachenko in with Berinchyk. It kind of takes the shine of Loma being a war hero & then fighting another Ukrainian. A Loma vs Berinchyk fight would probably do well in Poland, so you never know. Berinchyk will definitely have a target on his back.
