By Ray Wheatley – World of Boxing

Officials for Tyson Fury’s WBC heavyweight title defense against Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium on April 23 have been chosen. The referee will Mark Lyson of England, however, no British judges were chosen. Scoring will be done by Guido Cavalleri (Italy), Robert Tapper (Canada), and Juan Carlos Pelayo (Mexico).

Fury had stated that he wanted no British judges scoring his fight with Whyte following Josh Taylor’s controversial decision win over Jack Catterall last month.

RE: Fury/Whyte - bart - 04-06-2022

not much there to excite me

RE: Fury/Whyte - diehard - 04-06-2022

No, not impressed. I wanted Parker in there. Where's Nyika, SBW, and the Kiwi boyz on that card? I buy PPV if it's a great main event or exciting undercard. Guess I'll go with the main event if it's under $50.

RE: Fury/Whyte - bart - 04-06-2022

Hmmm yeah
Nyika would have been good for us here but unknown to most
I had hoped JP as well - obviously not v JJ but maybe a tune up level
I think Jared Anderson was going to feature but injured himself

RE: Fury/Whyte - diehard - 04-06-2022

Jared Anderson is the next big thing. Fury, AJ, Usyk are in their thirties I think. Anderson is what, in his early 20's? I'm excited about the main card. Fight's only a few weeks away, and some good boxing in the meantime, starting this weekend.

RE: Fury/Whyte - bart - 04-06-2022

RE: Fury/Whyte - diehard - 04-06-2022

Yep, I believe GGG is on DAZN.

Didn't realise that Zhang/Hrgovic was on the Canelo undercard. Coming up in May.

Giyasov-Gomez added to Canelo-Bivol PPV

Welterweights Shakhram Giyasov (12-0, 9 KOs) and Christian Gomez (22-2-1, 20 KOs) will clash for the IBF North American title on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs. Dmitry Bivol at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on May 7, live on DAZN PPV.

The Giyasov-Gomez clash joins super lightweight Montana Love against Gabriel Valenzuela and Filip Hrgovic against Zhilei Zhang in an IBF heavyweight final eliminator on the Canelo-Bivol telecast.
