Dreadful, im thankful of two things - 1 I didn't pay $50 for that shit & 2 I didn't watch that with the missus, she'd be jealous of all the cuddling.

Uhhh what a disappointing fight. Joe has no plan B. Really thought he would get Fa out of there early.
What happened to Parker's power.

Also 109 119 WTF.

Bullshit scorecards. Parker won by a UD. I think one card had it 119-109. Bullshit. It was close, and could have gone either way.

Parker defeats Fa by unanimous decision

Former WBO heavyweight champion and currently WBO #3 ranked Joeseph Parker (28-2, 21 KOs) scored a twelve round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten WBO #5 ranked Junior Fa (19-1, 10 KOs) to claim the vacant WBO Oriental heavyweight title on Saturday night at the Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand. Frustrating fight that never heated up. Close rounds. A lot of clinching. Parker was the aggressor. In the end, judges had it 119-109, 115-113, 117-111 for Parker.

Unbeaten heavyweight Hemi Ahio (17-0, 12 KOs) chopped down 7’1, 326-pound Julius “The Towering Inferno” Long (18-25-1, 14 KOs) in seven entertaining rounds. 43-year-old Long dropped Ahio in round four, but then ran out of gas. Ahio finally laid out Long with a left hook at the end of round seven. Time was 2:55.

I want a refund on the fight and I just streamed it for free...still feel ripped off.

Pretty much what I expected from Parker. He seems to have so much trouble actually landing anything. His conditioning is what won this fight. Probably the best stamina he has come into the ring with. I think there is still power there, he just isn't landing.

Haha oh it is painful. I was almost tempted. But I am still hurting from the fight for life.

50 dollars. Even Mayweather would be embarrassed. World Title fights are 20-25. This is ridiculous.

Parker defeats Fa on points in contest short on fireworks

Joseph Parker has beaten Junior Fa in a points decision at Auckland's Spark Arena this evening.

Parker won the match via decision.
The clash was hyped to be the greatest boxing bout in New Zealand's history.

But in reality it was anything but.

The two fought a long-winded twelve rounds with few glimpses of action, rather spending the majority of the match entangled in one another's arms.

It had begun promisingly.

A left hand jab from Fa at the end of the first round staggered Parker, and for a moment it looked like an upset could be on the cards.

But Parker came out swinging in the second, sneaking through Fa's defences with a number of uppercuts and jabs.

Both fighters appeared to tire in the later rounds and Parker won in a unanimous decision on the scorecard.

Disappointing and those scores were pathetic
the best thing is Fa increased his worth as a worthy top 20 ( I know WBO rankings but they aren't realistic).
JP not so sure - they will come out with ring rust etc but I think the occasion got to him more than Fa. He looked desperate and is not good when the opponent doesn't come to him. Charging head first throwing hopeful punches and getting tired up.
I feel deflated - opportunity to have NZ showcased as a boxing capital of covid lost...and a lockdown to top it off
