Hooper was touted as one of Oz's top prospects not that long ago but there have been issues out of the ring and of course this moment held him back badly.

Robbie did retire, sounds like he'd lost the enjoyment and took a few paydays overseas to finish off but then found love for boxing again.
I remember someone on here posted about nobody talking about his comeback but the kid he fought looked about 12 and looked like he should have been fighting at 140.
Reece Papuni has a tune up in Nelson next month against a kickboxer on debut so won't be a lot of talk about that either but after taking the Blake Caparello fight on short notice and a three year lay off I would expect with him and Robbie both back at LH that fight could finally happen if there is a suitable card where the money is there. They have previously fought out a three round then and extension round in a four-man.
There was talk of a rematch over 10 rounds on a Duco card but it fell through.
Not the two UFC men on the card and one of them arguably beat Papuni in a very close three round semifinal

That's a horrific KO.  At one point, Powdrill was considered an elite Aussie fighter.  He used to be better than his record now shows.  I think what happened is he stepped up in competition:  https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/396306

Not a bad alias "Power Drill"!

nullanulla if you were Powdrill you'd so play this out.
Fan: That's a good nickname, did you get it from knocking people out? From your right hand?
RP: Ah, yea, nah it was an x-girlfriend that gave it to me actually
Fan: wtf

Die boxing was a just a side hustle for Powdrill that I think went better than expected. He is a bit of a legend in Aussie Muay Thai circles and has also had many kickboxing and mma fights

Thanks for that. I was shocked to see that Powdrill's only KO was against Hooper. That was some power. About the girlfriend: I'll take Powdrill's word for it. Will have to speak to Mrs D...

Yea it was really odd! The only thing I do wonder is whether Hooper was properly prepared for a fight.
Hooper's very naturally talented but I've heard some crazy stories about the days leading into his fights in the early part of his career. I hope he has a decent go at living the life of a proper pro as I'm sure he will regret it later in life if he doesn't.

Only seen bits of it so far, looks a bit overweight at this stage. Seemed to switch stance a lot from the little I saw of it but didn't ook great on doing so. Still early days for him.
