RE: Izu Ugonoh - tm7 - 11-18-2015

According to Wikipedia - Izu's next opponent is Elijah McCall http://boxrec.com/boxer/456666.

Been inactive for a while but has a good resume, two recent losses to Andy Ruiz and Marcin Rekowski. He's young, looks in good shape from his Boxrec picture and has good family heritage. Son of Oliver McCall.

According to Polsat - Izu's next opponent is Vincente Sandez http://boxrec.com/boxer/397625

Mexican who's last fight was a loss to Charles Martin. Looks average but is still a big step up for Izu and was ranked inside the top 15 of I think WBO as recently as last month.

It is Sandez, Izu's Facebook page confirms it.

RE: Izu Ugonoh - diehard - 11-18-2015

Definitely a step up, albeit an easy one for Izu.  Good match-making.  Wonder if he'll fight him in the Fight for Life?

RE: Izu Ugonoh - Boxingfan25 - 11-18-2015

Johnson was a Tomato Can aswel. I mean if anything he was probably AJ's Easiest fight to date because Johnson was only ever in it for the money he put on a damn good show promoting the fight and got paid well for it but he was never in it to win it he hasn't been interested in winning for years he had no ambition or desire at all coming into that fight so i cant class him as AJ's toughest opponent when in reality he was probably his Easiest.

Dillian Whyte V AJ is going to be so good. 50/50 Fight for me. I know Whyte has a pretty good Chin but he wont be able to take punch after punch from AJ so he needs to Land some big stuff on AJ and early aswell even if it doesnt stun him atleast hit him hard enough to let him know that your there and around and wont be bullied.

Yes, it will be on the Fight For Life undercard

RE: Izu Ugonoh - diehard - 11-18-2015

Well that's the thing. Izu will be on the Fight for Life undercard, but they don't even list him as fighting on their website. I know he only just got an opponent, but at least list him. How hard could it be?

RE: Izu Ugonoh - tm7 - 11-27-2015

Izu to appear on Polish Dancing with the Stars - https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/sport/other/joe-parkers-training-partner-ugonoh-to-appear-on-dancing-with-the-stars.html

Obviously earning a decent name for himslef in Poland, despite being based in Vegas and NZ

Great interview with Izu:

RE: Izu Ugonoh - NakiFan - 12-03-2015

His sister won Polands "Next Top Model". Quite a hotty.

Putting that aside, with Izu also penciled down for Dancing with the Stars in Poland, his profile will boom over in Poland and Europe.

Trainer Kevin Barry has been doing a great job with heavyweight contender Joseph Parker, but Barry also high on another heavyweight: WBO #15 heavyweight Izuagbe Ugonoh (15-0, 12 KOs) who stopped Mexico’s Vicente Sanchez (15-5, 10 KO’s) in one round of a scheduled ten round bout at Hamilton, New Zealand last Saturday. Ugonoh, 6’5, was born in Szczecin, Poland in 1986 and is now based in Las Vegas, living with Barry and Parker.

“Izu is a tremendous talent,” said Barry. “A former world kickboxing champion. I first met him in Las Vegas when he came to spar with Joseph Parker. He was training with different trainers and not getting any fights – he had no direction. He came to see me – I had a very good thing going with Joseph – I wanted to be careful that if I was going to bring someone into our training camp and into my house that they had to have the right chemistry and be the right person. Things have worked out incredibly well. Izu had his first fight for me in October of 2014 and has had six fights in New Zealand and now rated WBO #15. He is a very gifted athlete with very long arms. I’m excited about Izu and attribute much of the rise and success of Joseph Parker to the day to day training with Izu.”
