So with Izu that's at least 3 ranked Poles on the same card. This was exactly the way I thought Duco might approach managing Parker and Izu together and look to maximise synergies. Oh well- never mind. Izu is at least getting a good shot at building his momentum together without them.. will be interesting to see if his following picks up. Hope he's fighting someone decent.

RE: Izu Ugonoh - diehard - 01-05-2017

Cranky, reading between the lines, I don't think it'll be anybody good. He said he just wanted to fight someone, and he didn't care much who the opponent was. He wants to get off to a good start in 2017, and likes being on the undercard of a title fight. That said, I think you're right; he will get a good Pole following, and with KB being his mouthpiece, he'll get some good fights in 2017, hopefully a top ten fight. Duco could have done a lot with him. All they needed to do was find him a decent opponent last month on the Parker undercard. With Arum, Duco could have gotten him some big fights in the NY/NJ area where Adamek had a big following with the Poles.

Maybe Izu v Gerald Washington?

RE: Izu Ugonoh - Infern0 - 01-05-2017

Izu sadly is firmly cemented in the "who needs him" club

He might need to start doing Shannon briggs style theatrics

Johnathan Banks was saying "I like Joseph Parker a lot,he's a good fighter, Joseph Parker is my guy, I like him a lot, but I just think Izu is on that level that's gonna be really, really a force to be reckoned with"

Infern0, I agree, he's gonna have a hard time getting a meaningful fight. Gothe, welcome back. Hope you enjoyed your holiday. Banks is in the Klit camp, so hopefully there's a path there.

RE: Izu Ugonoh - African Monkey - 01-09-2017

Well all he can do is keep working his way up the rankings like Parker did and the opportunities will come for him. People used to say the same about Parker being avoided but he took some big fights and is now a champion. Getting out of Duco should definitely push his career along.

RE: Izu Ugonoh - craigyid14 - 01-09-2017

I don't think Izu's problem is that he's avoided, I think the problem is that no ones heard of him. He's fought no one of any note what-so-ever, so why would anyone fight him? You'd hardly get a big pay day against him. Duco really stalled his career but you have to wonder about his appetite for it. Maybe he's just had a fantastic holiday in NZ.

Yep true, hopefully there's a push for him under Al Haymon. Don't know if he's on Wilder's undercard or not.
