Tszyu: I faced adversity for the first time

Unbeaten WBO #1 Tim Tszyu rose from an early knockdown before finding his footing and securing a twelve round unanimous decision over Terrell Gausha on Saturday night in Minneapolis.

“It was all so quick,” said Tszyu of the knockdown. “It was good that I faced adversity for the first time and I was able to come back. All respect to my opponent, Terrell Gausha. He’s a hell of a warrior and he’s a true gentleman. It was a simple flash knockdown. It was perfect timing. He’s a former Olympian. He’s got great credentials. That’s a great lesson for myself. I got back up and I dug deep.

“I felt in control the whole time. I kept the pressure on. I wasn’t going to back down. He kept landing shots but I said, ‘I’m going to keep coming forward and keep fighting.’ I kept my composure but I just kept saying to myself that this is a new round. I have to dig deep and I have to catch up here. I felt like I did that. I put the pressure on. I didn’t take one step backwards. I kept going on.

“I’ll definitely be there for Charlo vs. Castaño. I’ll definitely be watching. I’m coming for the two boys. Whoever wants it, come get it.”

Spence stops Ugas, unifies WBC, WBA, IBF belts

By Jeff Zimmerman at ringside

In a WBA/WBC/IBF welterweight unification clash, Errol Spence Jr (28-0, 22 KOs) stopped Yordenis Ugas (27-5, 12 KOs) in round ten on Saturday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Tough, gritty fight. Ugas rocked Spence in round six, however, Ugas’ followup was blunted by a questionable pause due to a lost mouthpiece. Spence rebounded in round seven and rocked Ugas, whose right eye was rapidly closing. Spence continued to punish Ugas until the bout was stopped by the ring doctor in round ten. Time was 1:44. At the time of the stoppage, Spence was up 88-82, 88-82, 88-83.

Crawford would beat Spence on that performance
Good recovery powers by Spence after getting rocked though
Too fast for Ugas and the eye ruined his vision as well

Was watching the Warriors. Will watch tomorrow. Did the ref putting Spence's mouthpiece back in after getting rocked give Spence time to recover? Or was that wrong?

It did but ugas didn't jump on the opportunity. Spencer was in trouble

Yes poor from Ugs who just let him recover.

I think he was confused at ref I wonder did he think it was going to be called a KD as ropes held Spence up.
Spence responded well though and took control bar a couple of Ugas rallies, I did think Spence was throwing quite a few low blows to take away Ugas steam
