Garcia probably showed he is still pretty green v Campbell, I would prefer he had couple more challenging fights before Davis.
I don't know how good Davis chin is as I haven't seen him hit hard ( not saying he hasn't been,I just haven't watched alot of him).
Was impressed with how Garcia recovered.
Great fight but could do with building it a bit longer for both guys

Arum: Lopez-Kambosos in May?

By Ray Wheatley – World of Boxing

Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum has been negotiating to have WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs) defend against IBF mandatory contender George Kambosos (19-0, 10 KOs) in Australia during May.

“We’ve been talking to the Aussies and we’re supposed to have a letter of intent from them by the end of this week,” said Arum to boxing writer Gareth Davies. “It would be in May sometime. We’re at the mercy of this coronavirus, but by May I think we’ll be okay. We’re looking at Melbourne. The plan is to do it in one of their big stadiums with 50,000 people. They’re doing events now at full capacity. The problem there is the quarantine for 14 days and they’ve prohibited foreigners from coming in at all to Australia until further notice.”

Even though alot of fans would like to see him against Hainey or Davis or even Garcia after the other weekend, I quite like this fight. Kambosos looked really good in beating Lee Selby who I really rate. There's alot of talk in the UK of Lopez moving up a few pounds and fighting Josh Taylor, that's definitely one for the future when crowds are allowed back either here or in the States. I reckon you kiwis should be pushing for more international fights, makes perfect sense with crowds.

Suprised promoters aren't looking at bringing boxing events down to Aus/NZ tbh. Chuck a few locals on the undercards to drum up a bit of local interest before chucking some big names as the main events.

Mr Higgins might want to talk to other US and UK promoters to get those fighters down here. Put the fighters and their entourage in a quarantine bubble for a few weeks where they can train and get tested, and we're good. Big crowds, PPV, etc.

Trout targets Tszyu

By Ray Wheatley – World of Boxing

Former WBA light middleweight champion Austin Trout (32-5-1, 18 KOs) has called out WBO #2, IBF #3 light middleweight Tim Tszyu (17-0, 13 KOs) and is willing to fight Tszyu in Australia.

“It would be great to come down to Australia and fight Tim Tszyu,” Trout told Peter Maniatis. “Jeff Horn would also be a good fight but the payment will have to be right.

“I have fought two other Australians, Frank Laporto and Daniel Dawson. Frank was all heart and Daniel hit me with one of the hardest right hands I have ever felt.

“I want to get back to how I felt when I beat Miguel Cotto. It was a pivotal moment in my career. It was almost a perfect night when I boxed Canelo Alvarez. It was a huge crowd and a great fight. The decision didn’t go my way or the way it should have. It was an event and l would like to get back to that sort of glory.”

Plant a 50:1 favorite over Truax

Many oddsmakers have IBF super middleweight champ Caleb Plant listed as a 50:1 favorite against challenger Caleb Truax. Truax backers can get as much as +2750. The bout airs Saturday on FOX.

“I’ve always been the underdog and I embrace that role,” stated Truax. “I fight my best when I’m in that spot and I look forward to proving all the naysayers wrong again.”
