fights like this are very tricky.

Local derby and the history with the amateur fights. there will no doubt be a lot of emotion around it that can sometimes be the downfall of a fighter.

Look at the whyte/joshua fight. the History those 2 had and the emotion in that fight almost cost AJ.

Fa and Parker are at very different stages in their careers, and stats would say that parker should win easy. But this is the fight game and the heavyweights where one punch can change someones life.

if i was a betting man (which i am) i would put money on the fight not going the distance. who wins....... well i know who should, but i'd make more if i back the other. and i want more more.
Let's hope Covid stays away - so they can get an actual crowd in attendance.

Haha might watch it now. Hope everything's good!
I guess the issues are the gloves. From memory, I always thought the issue is which brand gloves the fighters would wear. I've never heard that a boxer, in this case Parker, gets to choose his own gloves. Huge disadvantage to a boxer if a power puncher gets gloves with little padding, while the other one, who is a lighter puncher, doesn't.
Higgins and Parker relying on an unfair advantage. The norm in their NZ promotions..
Sham, am I right? Boxers have to agree to wear the same brand of gloves? Parker can't say, I'm wearing Everlast, or whatever, and you other guys decide what you want to wear. Doesn't make sense.
Always been the norm in my day diehard for both fighters to wear the same gloves provided for by the matchmaker

Right. It's part of the negotiation. They agree to wear a certain type of gloves. Not one who chooses what's best for them, and the other boxer something different. From memory, I think that was an issue for Mr Higgins with Hughie Fury, along with the ref of course.
