Covid KOs Jan 30 Beterbiev-Deines clash

WBC/IBF light heavyweight world champion Artur Beterbiev has been forced to postpone his title defense against Adam Deines — scheduled for Jan. 30 at VTB Arena in Moscow, Russia — after being diagnosed with COVID-19.

Beterbiev and Deines were originally scheduled to fight October 23, but Beterbiev suffered a rib injury in training. Information about the rescheduled Beterbiev-Deines showdown will be announced in due course.

Beterbiev (15-0, 15 KOs), the only current world champion with a 100 percent knockout rate, has not fought since his knockout victory over Oleksandr Gvozdyk in October 2019 to unify world titles.

Porter rejects “lowball” offer to fight Crawford

WBO mandatory challenger Shawn Porter says Top Rank needs to make a better offer if they want him to challenge WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford.

“I’m not taking a million,” said Porter on his podcast. “I did the best I could to send a message to Bob Arum and I also know people who know Bob and I told them ‘Tell Mr. Arum
I don’t mean any disrespect and I know that he doesn’t, but if you’re gonna lowball me, don’t do it! If you feel that’s the way you get out of fighting me, that’s weak. Don’t do it! However, if you want to make the fight happen, don’t lowball me. I’m worth more than a million dollars.’

“Eff a million dollars. I’m gonna keep it as clean as possible but I’m not fighting Terence Crawford for a million dollars!”
Gervonta Davis nets two WBA awards

The fight on October 31st between Gervonta Davis and Leo Santa Cruz was designated as the best of the year by the World Boxing Association (WBA), while the knockout delivered by the American to the Mexican also received the award for the best KO of the year.

The fight, held at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, featured the WBA Super Featherweight Super Championship and Lightweight Championship. It ended by knockout in the sixth round after a frantic action by both of them in which they gave their all and made great performances.

Santa Cruz’s aggressive style crossed paths with the Gervonta’s technical style and the Mexican put him in trouble several times during the fight. However, the American’s strategy and his excellent skills prevailed as the rounds went by.

In the sixth round, a beautiful left uppercut blew into Leo’s jaw and put him to sleep. In spite of the tension due to Santa Cruz’s condition, the spectacular hit shocked the fans by its perfection and great impact, and this is the reason why it has been designated as KO of the Year.

Gervonta proved to be one of the best pound-for-pounders today and one of the top names in the 130-135 pound range.
Tank is a beast, and would KO Garcia.
They can both bang... who's chin can take the power
Garcia has only been dropped once. How many times has Davis been dropped? Also, it's not only about the chin. I think Tank can put Garcia's lights out quicker than Garcia. And I love Garcia, but Davis won me over against Santa Cruz.
