Joseph Parker's camp is expecting the young Kiwi heavyweight to rise up the world rankings following his knockout victory over Irineu Beato Costa Junior.
Parker's stopped the Brazilian, just 31 seconds into the fourth round of his bout in Hamilton.
Parker says he knew the fight was over as soon as he connected with the right hand.
"Once I saw his facials and I saw his eyes and I thought it was a good punch and it landed and I looked over at Kevin and he was jumping up happy and then I was happy."
His trainer Kevin Barry says Parker was outstanding.
Barry says he showed how world class he really is and expects it'll put the shudders up a few other heavyweights.
Kevin Barry says he expects Parker to be ranked inside the top 10 by all four major boxing organisations by the end of next year.
Joseph Parker is now undefeated in 12 fights, with 10 of his wins coming by way of knock-out.
Barry: 'Parker's best performance'
Kevin Barry's hailing Joseph Parker's knockout win over Irineu Beato Costa Junior as an A plus performance.
Barry says it was by far Parker's best performance and he showed what he sees everyday in training.
"I thought this was the perfect opponent and the perfect time of the year, after putting five fights together in seven and a half months, that we would see the best of Joseph, we would see the skills that he possesses and tonight I thought he was outstanding."

I predicted a 4th round KO and thats what wee got. I thought the Brazillian was flat footed and pretty slow. Waxed again but good to see Joe KO someone who had never been stopped before.....cos he never fought anyone who could move and had speed I guess?? I was ringside....in the stands lmao
Joe looking impressive but we need see him fight up the tree a bit, Costa looked like a punchbag. The jury has to be still out...
All true Sham and Stormy.  But didn't I say Costa was slow and doesn't punch?  Would be interesting to see Parker fight Hammer, the guy who beat Costa over 10 rounds.  I think Parker could beat him.  Hammer is from Germany, and ranked #6 or so.  In Germany, it would be a huge fight.  Maybe on the Klit undercard?

Yes I think a fight with the guy who beat Costa jnr should be the next opponent. He would get stopped in 6 or 7 if Joseph was being cautious. The guy has some good points, but his bad points lend themselves heavily to the fact that Josephs jab would have a home all night long. The opponent is better than Costa, mostly because Costa acts more like a spar partner when he steps through the ropes.

I can see that fight ending early as well. Not just because Joseph is a better boxer than Hammer, but because I think Baby Joseph has what it takes to go further, but he needs to beat the guy that beat the guy. Who could say he was taking a backward step if hes taking on the opponent who took Costa; jnr's undefeated record away?
Bryant Jennings, Charles Martin, Hammer, and Pianati, Glazkov, Takam, all come to mind for Baby Joseph.  All are in the top 10.  Just stay away from Wilder!
I would like to see Parker vs Anthony Joshua...that be a good fight I would think
We're a year away from that fight, Thepaulz, according to Joshua and Parker. Be interesting to see how Joshua handles Kevin Johnson.
