He had a real struggle tonight, Pati was a real spoiler. Bigger and better fights to come for sure.

Fa looked a bit unrefined. Awkward short guy in Pati. He needs Quarrie this year then a Minto level next summer. Can't gauge anything right now. The problem in my opinion with tonight's fighters was the willingness to get hit, ,maybe Ricky Murphy, Helu notwithstanding. Anyone can comment whether the quality of Nz boxing is getting better? Helu needs to be developed slowly, maybe get some durable aussies over to take him 10 rounds without knocking the confidence out of him. Same with Murphy. Aumatagai also looks like one to focus on and get him sharper defensively. A few times he was taking shots from Jackson he didn't have to. Really exciting time but need to build on this and not let these guys remain stagnant with their skill development. The guy Murphy fought will make a bit of cash as a good durable journeyman. Have to say the disappointment of the night for me was Nick Charalampous. He looked real pplodding and telegraphed his shots. No real snappy jab, or structured defence-just all over the place. Like a poor man's Bellew. A shame because he seems to have good natural explosiveness. Could be a weight thing too. Cheers

NIk had an injury and he wants to fight. Wasn't your normal Nik last night but some of these guys fight for a living and need the cash. got to do it simply sometimes. second phase wasn't there due to cal injury from a year ago and his knee was tweaked 2 weeks ago, we were with the surgeon on the morning of the fight so was potentially serious. got through it though and rehabbing now. you will notice his back foot was flat allot which will explain his choice of not moving too much

was nearly  same weight as last fight just didn't dry out and couldn't  train last 2 weeks so came in heavy from a weigh in point of view. we didn't want him to dry 5kg out as would have made his injury worse potentially.

I was actually impressed with Junior Fa against Junior Pati. Junior Fa is only in the very early stages of his transition from top flite Amateur to becoming a full time pro. Junior Pati can be a spoiler as you mentioned but is also under rated and fought well considering the vast size difference. I had a great chat with Junior Fa at the end of the night about AJ and all things boxing also going down memory lane when he was in the Auckland squad. The great thing about NZ Boxing is the fighters and trainers are very much approachable at these types of events.

Fa's out again on the 26th august against an opponent yet to be named on Shane Cameron's show at the ABA.

Watching an interview on Youtube regarding the lack of time Fa gets to train, it's a pity someone with serious coin doesn't take him on so he can box and train fulltime.

Fa's down to fight Tussi Asafo, who's on debut but has a kick boxing background and fought at king of the ring.
