working on dec 14th in ak. fingers crossed

Sounds good and thanks for that write up as it puts things into perspective. Good to see him back out there and making up for lost time and being 13-0 certainly looks good.

Any idea on what sort of opponent you guys are looking at should Junior fight next month?

Yeah looking to fight some taller guys. Have got a couple of irons in the fire at the moment. 6 ft 5 ish type., it's critical to get experience with tall guys . Joe is the shortest world champ at mo at 6 ft 4.

Hi Mark. This is my two cents. Instead of Focusing solely on the height of opponents, which I'm sure you're not, but hypothetically, wouldn't it be best for Fa to fight credible opponents, those with a name; those that will get Fa noticed? And getting Fa noticed would be best achieved with winning in a stunning fashion against credible guys (ie: guys slightly above Latham and on the top 15 fringes- Alex Leapai comes to mind.) It just feels that 'fighting taller guys because the champs are tall' isn't what's needed at this stage; a stage where another jabathon against a top 100 boxer, will undo all that hype he engendered with the ko on the weekend. I think that agresssive style should be his shtick and if it not only gets him more of a following, it may help in the rankings also.

of course you need credibility but you also have cost involved.  opponents are all relative to the price and where they travel from. we had 6 fighter turn the fight down in USA all undefeated. Its easier in america but its still hard there. in 13 fights 6 foot 2 is the tallest we have had. 50k for an opponent on smaller cards is just not feasible.

Any more updates markk? Will we still be seeing Junior out in this date?

worst case scenario he will be competing n the steps before feb 26th. best case a fight in africa on 6th of jan and then in states before feb 26th. he is working hard at training at moment. also may have some interesting sparing coming up in the next few months to help another fighter out and more importantly to help with development

Possible African-based Heavyweight opponents that would be considered tall and have 'appropriate' records..
http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/694641 R.Visser. 6"11, young possibly limited going by record
http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/24285 Osbourne machimana, well known veteran. almost 40 now. 6"3

Osbourne Machimana seems like a likely candidate if it's African based heavyweights. He's active and doesnt mind taking on undefeated prspects (and losing to them of course). Fought Wallin last year and 18-0 Zhang this year. Someone at his evel would be good for Junior, though wouldn't want to go any lower from here on. Machimna went 8 rounds losing UD with otto wallin, winning a round on a scorecard. So hes still a good journeyman for young pups

My cousin fought Machimana 15 years ago and he gassed after 8 minutes...... Maybe he's worked on his fitness over the years (hopefully).
