The Super 8 facebook page (John McRae) said that the Berridge and Pupuni decisions were bad. Lightning Mike Angove said it was a terrible decision, as did Shane Cameron. Angove also said that the judges were independent from Super 8 promoters. In my mind, Berridge and Pupuni's opponents would have made a nice, exciting final.
So did the Super 8 and judges get together to rig the winners, or did the judges act independently?
Boxingfan, I don't know if Langton under-estimated Betham as much as he over-estimated him, giving him way too much credit for what Betham could do to him. In retrospect, he should have just gone right thru him. A blueprint of what he should have done was what Cameron did to him. Yes, Langton is not Cameron, but he could have used the same style: back him up on the ropes, use his jab to keep him there, and then unload with rights and lefts.
