Joseph Parker
Sour grapes for Jones as Joseph was taken by Duco under his nose. Honestly, everyone is saying the same thing: Parker showed grit and a good chin to beat a top contender in Takam, someone who is tougher than AJ or Wilder has ever faced. He has holes in his defense, got gassed, and takes too many punches. He and KB also realise all this and plan to work on it. Both agree he's not ready for Fury or AJ yet.

I really can't blame KB for not wanting to fight top 5-10 guys. They've worked hard for three years to get this far, a mandatory to a title shot. Pretty rare in these parts. So they are protecting their ranking while getting a 3-5 million dollar paycheck. If it were us, would we really take a chance on losing that kind of coin?

Bob Jones is a vindictive idiot.

100% correct analysis there by Bob..  The emperor has no clothes..

Poor Joseph has to try and live up to the unwarranted hype around him.  These Duco clowns are delusional and out of their league.. know nothing about boxing.  They dare match Parker with any Whyte, AJ, Klitch, Fury or  Hayes and the dream is over.

Parker has to learn the craft of boxing.. learn to box through the rounds and grind out a result.  Learn composure, how to slip, cover up and move.  That's a hard ask when his Team have spoon fed him a diet of easy kills.  Now he is faced with the prospect of title fight..  too too soon.  Parker is not a preordained World Heavyweight Champion and - currently - is not equipped with the skills to get there.

On Saturday night hype and reality parted company at the sound of a bell.  All the comparisons with former Champs, all the endorsements and high profile well wishers - just hype.  Reality is Joseph has a long journey ahead of him as he desperately needs to master some of the basics before dreaming of Title glory.

He seems locked into the Duco pathway so, I doubt anything will change... until, he is lifting himself off the canvas and realizes something needs to ...

Agree about sour grapes, and that it doesn't make sense to face more top 10 fighters. But what about top 20, or even top 30? Parker could still be tested to some degree against durable guys, whilst being able to hone his skills. Facing guys he's going to KO inside a few rounds isn't going to teach him a whole lot.

Call no man a fool. Die you nail Bob with so much venom venom, but Bob's point of view is as good as yours and mine and anybody else's,  probably more so because hes been himself a fighter and has mansged fighters. Bob Jones is a successful business tycoon and most certainly not a fool as you put the label from behind your keyboard. A fool?? Well,  not much wisdom for an untactful moderator.
Please apologize!

Bob came off pretty harsh and scathing himself.

Apparently there are 15 Joseph type fighters around the HW scene... Really? I would like to see someone list them down.

Parker has no power... Why because he didn't knock out a seasoned pro with one of the best chins in the HW division?

According to Bob fighters mature in their mid 30s...so Parker should just sit back and fight the same calibre fighters during the next 6 to 8 years. Remember this is the same Sir Bob that didn't want Parker to fight some of the opponents he fought in 2013....and won comfortably.

Sounds like an old man that had a chance to moan to the media...and one that lost out on a business opportunity for his pocket.

I firmly believe KB has JPs best interest at heart. There is nothing but admiration and a family sense of love from this tight outfit. There is no doubt some serious debates behind closed doors when KB and Duco talk opponents...but with news that Takam was rejected twice last year upon KBs request shows who has the final say.

Some of what Mr Jones said was embellished, i.e there are not 15 guys with a similar record and name such as takam

Also it's not that Joe has "no power" but i do think we have to admit at this stage that he's not a huge puncher, I mean duco did used to push him as one of the hardest hitters in the division, and well, Takam has had a decent chin in the past but he's not really been in with many power punchers and Povetkin absoloutley banjo'd him, well joe never hurt him once.To be honest Takams best win was Perez who was never the same after that Magomed fight and old tony thomson, i mean outside of that Takam hasn't really dealt at high level himself.

Mr jones is using dramatic license but I think he makes a lot of good points, and personally I think he'd have managed joe a lot better than Duco, Mr jones is one of this countries most renowned businessmen.

under jones, I don't think he would be in line for a title shot at this stage in his career. but let's be honest, he isn't ready for that level yet anyway.

Bob over the top? Yep, probably on a couple of things. But boy, I have been wanting to say some of those things for a long time now, because Duco Lonergan KB and the NZ hype machine media have been over the top, sickening? Yes bloody sickening and the cream of the boxing world roped in with little segments eg: Bob Sheridan and ridiculous comments like Jo being similar to Ali and so much rubbish he gets his mouth around to. Could take out Fury AJ and Klit... endless rubbish. Jo had a good win over Carlos Takam on the weekend but was somewhat exposed badly in the process as a guy who is emulating Ali, and TBH that fight was the only real fight we've seen him in. Jo has certainly got talent and is making a ripple, but as Bob stated a ripple is a long way from waves and Duco ensemble are milking fightfans for all its worth, and we're falling for it.
