Joseph Parker
So much for a " Major Clue " . Typical of Duco.

I thought Joseph was the #1 mandatory

The only major organization number one available is erkan teper. Alternitivley he could be fighting takam to decide the new IBF number 1

To me this means Joe is fighting Carlos Takam for the #1 Mandatory spot in the IBF in May.

Venue to follow.

PS. I am not back.

I hope it means that.

I read into that also. Takam is the opponent, as this bout is basically securing Parker as the #1 Mandatory in the IBF.

Good to see you back Kiwi.

As long as its not Joseph defending one of his regional belts against the no 1 mandatory.... that would be a disappointment...

So as tm7 said, no Chch fight in April?

All points to Takam as an IBF elim. Takam would fancy his chances after a below par performance from Parker v Bergman maybe. Apparently Takam priced himself out of the Joshua fight earlier but maybe thats because he thought hed get a pasting and wanted something to show for it. Pick em fight for me Takam vs jo. We'll see

(Poorly) Translated from an Italian website:

It promises very interesting the next match at the top of the IBF rankings to determine who will be the next official entity challenger.
No.5 Carlos Takam (02/01/33, 25 KOs, promoted by Opi2000) and Joseph Parker 6 (18-0, 16 KOs, Duko Events) have accepted the preliminary round for the IBF title belt as known will see the first defense of the US champion Charles "Prince" Martin at the O2 Arena in London, on April 9 vs. Anthony Joshua (4).
The Opi2000 and New Zealanders who manage Parker will have until March 11 next to reach an agreement, then the IBF comunicheà any auction date. In any case, the same Opi2000 confirmed that the match against Takam will not be done for the date of 17 April - the day on which would be a match scheduled for Parker.
Stylistically the challenge could be an excellent match for the top category. The most experienced and run in Franco-Cameroonian Takam, former opponent of Mike Perez and Alexander Povetkin, would oppose the freshness, the jab and the explosiveness of this young 24 year old New Zealander, from 7 wins before the limit (against modest rivals), which according to several observers might be a future star of the division.
