Joseph Parker
Ok, Kiwi, before you leave, can you call Deano and ask him who Parker might be fighting in April in CC? Stu is trying to pull together the undercard whilst landing a fight for Parker. He's got an opponent in mind, but nothing yet.

I read somewhere that Jarrell Miller said he'd be willing to come to NZ and fight Parker....

No hard feelings, Diehard.

Kiwi out.

Outstanding that you just called Duco to ask him Kiwi!

What else did he tell you that's not 'confidential'?

Talking about how sometimes Joseph Parker is perceived as a relatively unknown in the sport I did some analytical investigating around media of him vs other similar prospects/contenders/title holders using Google. I will use the following boxers: Joseph Parker, Hughie Fury, Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.

Google Search results using " (name) + Boxer "

Joseph Parker- 490K
Hughie Fury- 27K
Anthony Joshua- 524K
Tyson Fury- 697K
Deontay Wilder- 310K

Youtube Search using "(name only)"

Joseph Parker- 79K
Hughie Fury- 10K
Anthony Joshua- 453K
Tyson Fury- 256K
Deontay Wilder- 87K

It's interesting that JP holds his own when it comes to Google search results with many articles, even more than current WBC HW champ Deontay Wilder. Where things get interesting is the Yotube results where Anthony Joshua seems to be a bit of a viral video star. Not surprising considering the population of the UK, and many videos of other fighters have had keywords of Anthony Joshua inbedded into the vid.

I suppose the reassuring thing is that JP is getting exposure online, and it would have been interesting to have done this comparison a year ago...maybe this time next year I'll look back on the numbers and see if things have changed significantly.

Your contributions on here have been interesting Kiwi, I have enjoyed the major part of sitting back and listening. You can always change your mind and remain on board. At times Diehard may have you feeling like quitting, depends when his feeding times are lol.. The very one thing I like about these kind of forums is you get to learn some humility in the company of boxing minds greater than yours (as if that could be possible) and with posters who are better with words, its a challenge we need to hang onto to improve our own equillibrium.

Sham, can you imagine every time we argued, one of us quit? Or others disagreeing? Guess people respond in different ways.

The media keeps saying that Parker leapfrogged Klit. No he didn't. Parker was three, Wlad four. Parker passed Martin at #1 and AJ at #2. I think he advanced because Martin is now the IBF champ and the IBF doesn't want a bar of him. Territorial? And AJ has come out saying he's not ready yet. Parker says he is. The WBO has always rated Parker highly, much better than the IBF. I really hope AJ and Parker don't fight each other until they are BOTH ready. Parker needs to fight a top 25 guy in CC, a top ten guy in July, and the Klit/Fury winner after that.
