I think he is still learning, it depends whether you focus on his age or his record as to whether you think he should be going faster, personally I think he's being moved really well. Expecting a step up in opponent credibility in April though, not necessarily someone who will challenge him, but a name that most casuals recognise.

Seems the hyping and PPV fees are the issue here, rather than who he's fighting.

Side note: I also think Bowie Tupou would beat Heni

Well I certainly don't agree with that, I reckon Hemi would blow him away in a round too

A dedicated, trained Tupou vs Hemi would be one helluva fight.  Remember though, Hemi doesn't have a skip punch.

Hemi's chin is a bit suspect as well, he was dropped in his last fight.

Hemi Ahio is definitely an interesting boxer. Lots of power, nice left hook. But I doubt he would blow out Meehan the way Parker did, and there are actually several fighters on Jo's record that would trouble him. Minto (despite of Stu's clear disdain of the guy haha) would be one I also thinks he struggles against. As for Tupou, everyone disses the guy now because of how early he got KOd but people have to remember that he was a dangerous proposition for Jo at the time. He's beaten Bergman at least and had even managed to floor Jennings.

I don't know about suspect he got caught with a good sharp left against a guy swinging, took a knee and before the ref even gave an eight count shipped two full to the head undefended. Its quite a surprise he didnt get knocked out.

Parker is 1/100 favourite, with skybet. How can they expect punters to pay $40ppv? With circus act buttabean main support and no news of the rest of the undercard.....

I am actually a fan of Hemi's and am confident John will bring him along at a steady pace. There is no need to rush him along - i dont believe he is at the same level as Joe skills wise but agree he is a great prospect.

While i understand their are differing views & opinions on Joe Parkers career to date - I am respectful that people arent going on in a tangent with regards to my posts. CHEERS .. Stu

The thing is craig, people will pay. I'm not sure in the numbers like the Meehan fight or Tupou fight, due to the lack of knowledge of the undercard fighters. Whenever I book up a fight, a number of friends come around, providing beer and snacks for a seat around the TV, so it definitely offsets the cost. I like to think that (regardless of how much money goes where), that my cash is helping a talented fighter work his way to a chance of getting a HW title.

If JP was English, his road would much easier than a boy from NZ...
