Joseph Parker
Mr Higgins said that an opponent would be named last weekend. Well, it's THIS weekend, and still no opponent. Maybe Mr Higgins got his weekends mixed up?

Wach is a good opponent, and fought Whyte to a standstill, which shows he belongs in there with Parker. And he's already in the US waiting to sign a contract. Come on Mr Higgins, make it happen!

Take your point as it is dragging out and he's not my favourite person but to be fair I think he said it could even be by as soon as the (last) weekend. Must be coming in the next few days though surely. My guess is that it's Wach but he's trying to milk every $$$ he can

Maybe, as it's usually issues around money. But Wach made it sound like he was already ready to sign. Just send him the contract, Mr Higgins. Of course, that negates knowing what's going on behind the scenes. I'm sure Wach would make more money fighting Whyte on the undercard of a title fight in Saudi Arabia than in Texas.

U probably have a point on the $$ issue
Wach will want to be paid well after Whyte and probably was paid well in Saudi
But this is different

bart, what do you mean by "different?" That he shouldn't expect as much money in Texas than in Saudi? If Wach really wants to fight Parker, and is already in the US, he doesn't have much bargaining power and is probably willing to take what's in the contract. That's my thinking anyway.

Yes I mean he shouldn't expect Saudi $ to fight JP
If he thinks he can beat JP then he should ask for big $ to fight likes of Usyk etc

Thanks, craig! Good find. The guy looks ok on paper, but you'd think Parker would want a name like Wach for PPV appeal (if that happens) as well as looking good against a common foe in Whyte:

Yeah would prefer Wach myself but can't be choosers
Needs to win impressively even if it is Homer Simpson in front of him

Both his loses come to guys well outside the top 50 and one was a cruiser... to be fair the cruiser was an MD loss but still.
If this is the oponent then it's pretty clear Hearn's only plans for Parker are to use him as an opponent for one of his heavies who he's a lot closer with. Hard to imagine he's looking at a pathway for Parker with these kind of fights. More like keep him winning in case someone pulls out of fighting a Whyte or someone like that and use him as a late replacement. Or through Parker at someone like a Filip Hrgovic and Matchroom take the winner seriously and dump the other.
