Betting on an Anthony Joshua victory over Carlos Takam is nigh on impossible given the odds on a near-certainty 'W' for the heavyweight champion.
AJ shortened from 1/33 againt Kubrat Pulev to 1/50 after an opponent switch to the solid Cameroonian.
Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “Carlos Takam will certainly provide AJ with a completely different challenge to that of Kubrat Pulev. However, despite only having two weeks to prepare for his replacement opponent, we think the heavyweight champ is in for a much easier ride when he fights at the Principality Stadium on October 28th.
“We have Joshua at 1/50 to defeat Takam, even shorter than the 1/33 on offer when Pulev was the opponent, and with a brutal KO predicted at 1/28, the Brit is sure to move on to bigger fights in 2018."
On the potential for a fight with Tyson Fury next for Joshua, as speculated in the press, Alger added:“Unification clashes with Joseph Parker and Deontay Wilder are a matter of when, and not if, and both fighters are each 2/1 to step into the ring with AJ next. Other options include a second fight with arch-nemesis Dillian Whyte at 10/1.”
