Unbeaten heavyweights collide Friday

Unbeaten 6’5, 270-pound New Zealand-based heavyweight Junior Fa (12-0, 7 KOs) meets Pittburgh’s Fred Latham (9-0-2, 5 KOs) in an eight-rounder on Friday night’s ShoBox telecast from the Masonic Temple in Cleveland. Fa, who has two amateur victories over reigning WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, will fight for just the second time in the United States. He recently trained in England with heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
Former Pennsylvania Golden Gloves champion Latham (9-0-2, 5 KOs) battled to a split decision draw against Alonzo Butler (31-3-2, 24 KOs) in his last bout on December 3, 2016. “I am looking forward to facing Fa. I’ve heard a lot about him and the great heavyweight prospect he is, but on November 10 I’ll show the world that I’m a much better fighter!”

Still not happy with Fa's body. Too flabby. He's facing a good opponent though, who drew with tough Alonzo Butler. So if he KO's Latham, all is forgiven. Go Junior! Best of luck markk.

Just shows how out of shape he was fat and weight wise. BUT, you're doing something about it! He can carry 3 kg's in between fights, I reckon. BUT, it's not a weight loss sport. Jarrell Miller weighs 298 pounds, carrying fat, but he can punch. This afternoon, NZ time, I want to see him throw stiff left jabs, and following it up with a right hand that will KO Latham. Let's go, Junior, you can do it!

Fa KOs Latham in 67 seconds

Undefeated heavyweight Junior Fa (13-0, 8 KOs) destroyed Freddy Latham (9-1-2, 5 KOs) in the first round. A barrage of punches from Fa finished Latham. Fa looks like a pretty good heavyweight. Time was 1:07.
In a clash of undefeated welterweights, Radzhab Butaev (8-0, 6 KOs) outpointed Janer Gonzalez (18-1-1, 15 KOs) over a lackluster eight rounds. Scores were 80-72, 79-73, 77-75.
2016 Olympian jr middleweight Charles Conwell (6-0, 5 KOs) went the distance for the first time, battering Roque “Rocky” Zapata (4-2-3) for six one-sided rounds. Conwell dropped Zapata in round three and Zapata barely beat the count. Conwell floored him again later in the round. Zapata was down for a third time in round five, but toughed it out for the full six. Scores were 60-51, 60-51, 60-53.
