"PED epidemic"

Based on what?

Instead of acting butthurt go educate yourself
Its not that hard to do

Google Britain steroid epidemic and you'll get a quarter of a million hits

Drug use in sport and boxing isn't something I made up ,
I don't like it either But it's real

Being informed doesn't make me sad

Burying your head in the sand about reality, and bagging someone else in ignorance just makes you look foolish

Infern0 you are one of the better posters on here (in my opinion), but I have to agree with westy. Amongst the heavyweights at least, in Britain ped use is wriff, has been for years. I actually honestly believe Joshua is the exception though but wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong. He just seems like he's been in the limelight for 4-5 years now and I reckon he would of been caught. I could pm you some details of how I'm so sure about the ped use, I just can't put it on a public forum though.

Send me these details I'd love to be enlightened.

I have no doubt some British heavies are using, but then again in my opinion so could a lot of fighters.

Wilder is incredibly suspicious as are klitschkos (Vitali being busted in the amateurs for roid usage. Browne and povetkin tested positive, Luis Ortiz has twice.

What I'm saying is westywarrior is trying to make out that this is a UK problem and that it's a dirty sporting nation which I think is pish

Of you do want to see me criticize the British boxing scene, here you go.....

I DO belive that there are people in power in British boxing who have a very clear agenda to assist anthony joshua in any way possible.

Dillian Whyte getting a ridiculous ban for a store bought preworkout being part 1 and I think those same people are messing with Fury right now.

Fury is very outspoken about the old blazer brigade on the UK and I'm sure some very high ups want him silenced and off the scene.

So yes I think there is something rotten going on but I have no proof just my opinion

AJ is much bigger than his pro debut

David Price says he KO’d Anthony Joshua in sparring, wants opportunity to try and do it again in IBF challenge

James Slater - August 13, 2016 - 70 comments

A couple of days ago, reigning IBF heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua put out a Tweet telling would-be challengers to leave him alone as far as asking for a shot at him unless they are “serious” and not mere hype jobs. Well, fellow Brit and former British champion David Price saw the Tweet and responded to it by stating he wants to fight A.J for his IBF belt. But that’s not all: with his challenge, Price told of a story regarding how he knocked Joshua out in sparring a few years back.

Price says he did not boast about the incident – one that left Joshua “flat on his face, ushered out of the ring by his trainers” – and he acknowledges it took place a long time ago. But Price, who got back to winning ways in May under new trainer Dave Coldwell, says there is “only one way to find out” whether or not Joshua remembers the incident in sparring and whether it affects him in a real fight. Price says he would take the next shot at AJ, “in a heartbeat.”

“It’s probably the worst kept secret in boxing and it’s something that I’ve never really brought up or mentioned,” Price told Sky Sports. “When it happened, Joshua was an amateur on the GB squad and I was a novice pro and I kept it to myself because he was an up and coming potential boxer. I wanted to protect him from it, didn’t want to go around boasting about it. But our positions have changed and he’s the IBF heavyweight champion of the world. I’m definitely interested in having a shot, and I thought the time was right to let the cat out of the bag and let people know. It’s possible Joshua can be hit and hurt and can be beaten.”

Price, who, interestingly also holds an amateur win over world heavyweight king Tyson Fury, can certainly whack with real power, the problem he has faced is what happens when he gets hit back. Still, Price sees himself as an unbeaten fighter – with some justification due to how the two men to have beaten him, Tony Thompson X2 and Erkan Teper, subsequently failed post-fight drugs tests – he is on the road back, and as a voluntary defence for Joshua he would prove an intriguing challenger. It would perhaps be better if Price got himself one more confidence-boosting win first, but he might well be the next man to share a ring with Joshua, in November or December.

Will Joshua take what could be a risky fight, or will he see a Price fight as one with too much risk and no reward? “It isn’t a forgone conclusion,” Price said of the potential fight between he and A.J. One thing can be agreed upon: the fight would end via a KO, one way or the other.

Tyson Fury says he’s resumed full training, wants Klitschko in October, Joshua in March, Wilder in the summer

James Slater - August 15, 2016 - 12 comments

Tyson Fury took time out to celebrate his 28th birthday over the weekend but he assures his fans he is back in full training this week. Fury, who has been driving around in a limo with the date (Oct. 29) and venue (Manchester ) of his rematch with Wladimir Klitschko emblazoned on the side, took to Twitter to list his goals for the coming months.

“This year Oct bitch Wlad. March 2017 weightlifter AJ. Summer 2017 hollow Wilder, let’s make this happen, let’s dance pussys,” Fury wrote late last night.

Fury is currently fighting hard to clear his name with regards to a well documented claim that he, and his cousin Hughie Fury, failed post-fight drugs tests. Fury is absolutely adamant he never took anything ahead of his big win over Klitschko. But while that saga plays itself out Fury is at least back in training and seemingly as ambitious as ever to keep proving he is the best. The fights Fury lists are of course the big heavyweight fights the fans want to see. Hopefully the Klitschko rematch WILL go ahead as scheduled (or as rescheduled) and then, if fight fans get what they deserve, the massive unification fights between Fury (if he’s victorious in October) and Joshua and Wilder will take place next.

But will it be so easy making these big fights? Wilder is currently out injured and may not be back in action until next spring, while Joshua must take care of his mandatory challenger Joseph Parker. Will either the WBC champ or the IBF ruler be ready, and willing, to fight Fury in the coming months? At least Fury is calling for these big and important fights. Whether he gets them or not is another thing.

Who is the world’s best heavyweight? Until anyone can prove otherwise, that distinction has to go to Fury. It’s just a shame the peaking giant has been so inactive as of late (nine months since he upset Wladimir). October 29 cannot roll around soon enough.

Bugga! No mention of Parker...

I think Tyson Fury is really looking forward to ending the UK casual fans love affair with AJ. Parker may beat him to it though.
