Wilder stops Arreola, retains WBC heavyweight title

Unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (37-0, 36 KOs) retained his title with an eighth round TKO over Chris “The Nightmare” Arreola (36-5-1, 31 KOs) on Saturday night at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. Wilder dropped Arreola in round four, then staggered him badly at the bell. Wilder apparently injured his right hand and used it sparingly after that. Arreola staggered back to his stool after round seven. Arreola’s stopped the beating after round eight.
