Tyson Fury sparks more outrage after revealing he eats hedgehogs

Just when you thought Tyson Fury couldn't get any more controversial, the world heavyweight boxing champion has sparked outrage in England after revealing he eats hedgehogs.

Hedgehogs are endangered in Britain but that hasn't stopped Fury including them in his diet regime, revealing to British tabloid The Sun that his brother breeds them and bullfrogs for eating.

"I've eaten hedgehog - it's like nothing you've eaten before," the 'Gypsy King' said.

"Marinate them in honey, put them on a clay tray and bake in the oven."

Baked hedgehog used to be a traditional recipe for gypsies, according to The Sun.

It is illegal to domesticate hedgehogs in the UK as they are on the endangered list, but it is not illegal to eat them.

Unsurprisingly, animal campaigners hit out at Fury's comments.

"If Tyson Fury has decided that a gentle hedgehog is edible, then in addition to needing to curb the offensive things that come out of his mouth, he needs to curb what he puts into his mouth," PETA's associate director Elisa Allen told the tabloid.

Fury won the heavyweight title last November when he stunned long-time champion Wladimir Klitschko in Germany.

But the 27-year-old Englishman has created just as many headlines outside the ring since then after publicly airing his homophobic and sexist views.

Fury attracted fierce criticism for linking homosexuality to paedophilia while, commenting on British Olympic heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill, he said: "A woman's best place is in the kitchen and on her back – that's my personal belief."

Fury is yet to defend his title but is set to meet Klitschko in a rematch later this year.

Not yet, the whole card was originally going to be named at once but with it now being for a World Title I'm guessing they will have to save some money on the undercard.
