Joshua has been saying he is still developing and wants to get more experience before he fights the big boys like Fury, Wilder and Haye, if you look at Martin's record he's still pretty much a prospect himself and was very lucky to get his title.
This is an even playing field type scenario where Martin is barely if at all more experienced than AJ. AJ pretty much said the only reason he may not take the fight is because if he wins there will be less room for development, as he will now be expected to fight at a higher level. Hearn has told Team Joshua to not worry about the future, just worry about whether they think they can beat Martin. If they think AJ can and will win, then they might as well take it and Hearn will sort the rest out.
This makes me think Hearn will protect AJ from the big boys until he's ready for them.
