It's hard to tell how good Whyte was because Browne was so awful

Was it only 5kg?

I am really disappointed. Browne showed what he had with Ruslan. He has been all over the show. 12 rounds vs Julius Long. He had nothing in this fight.

There must have been something going on. Injury, illness. He looked messed up before it started.

Whyte was faster than normal but still had some awful footwork. Lucas was really bad and I mean bad! Whyte has improved and that's a great win for his record. I would like to see Dillian vs Takam or Povetkin, then we will see where Dillian sits. Dillian was Chisora reincarnation but has more potential lol

WBC #1 Whyte KOs Browne in six
WBC #1 heavyweight Dillian Whyte (23-1, 17 KOs) scored a devastating sixth round KO over previously unbeaten Lucas Browne (25-1, 22 KOs) on Saturday night at The O2 Arena in London. Whyte brutally busted up Browne throughout the fight, then laid out the bloodied Browne face down with a huge left hook to end it. Time was :37.

Former heavyweight title challenger Dereck Chisora (28-8, 20 KOs) scored a second round TKO over Zakaria Azzouzi (14-3, 10 KOs). Bout waved off after Chisora dropped Azzouzi.

Thanks for that, bart. Didn't get a chance to see the fight live. Looked like a mis-match to me. Whyte is Wilder's #1 challenger in the rankings. That would be a good fight. AJ/Wilder won't happen anytime soon. If AJ beats Parker, no way will Hearn give Wilder the money he wants. If Parker wins, then there's the rematch. I say Wilder/Whyte next.

Well it was a long time coming for Browne as soon as he stepped in with a top 10 opponent. He just has no boxing skill at all and has always relied on his right hand which has worked against lower level opposition. He's even had his struggles against poor opposition such as Julius Long and Andriy Rudenko. I hope he's ok but I think that is the last we'll see of Lucas Browne.

Hopefully we won't see Wilder v Whyte next which is what Eddie wants.

Good article on the fight:

Results: Whyte destroys Browne in 6th round KO
ESB - March 24, 2018 3 Comments

Dillian ‘The Body Snatcher’ Whyte (23-1, 17 KOs) destroyed former WBA World heavyweight champion Lucas ‘Big Daddy’ Browne (25-1, 22 KOs) in a 6th round knockout on Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, England. Whyte knocked Browne out cold in the 6th round with a left hook to the head that put the Australian heavyweight down face first on the canvas.

The fight was televised on Sky Sports in the UK and on HBO Boxing in the U.S. HBO picked up the fight to get in on what could be a fight between Whyte and Deontay Wilder or Anthony Joshua.

Referee Ian John Lewis halted the fight 37 seconds into round 6.

The speed difference between the two heavyweights was the difference in the fight. The 38-year-old Browne was just way too slow to handle the speed of the 29-year-old Whyte.

In round 3, Browne suffered a bad cut over his left eye. The cut continued to be a problem for Browne the entire fight. In the 5th round, Browne suffered a bloody nose and his face looked like a mess. Browne was not nearly good enough to compete in this fight.

After the fight, Whyte called out Deontay Wilder, saying, “Where are you at Deontay Wilder? Let’s get it on.”

Whyte’s promoter Eddie Hearn says he believes the WBC will make him the mandatory challenger for Deontay Wilder next, and he thinks that he’ll have no choice but to fight him. Hearn is hoping Wilder-Whyte can take place in June.

With this win, Whyte is now the WBC mandaotry challenger to World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. It’ll be up to the WBC to determine when they’ll order the Wilder vs. Whyte fight. If they do order the fight, then Wilder will have to face Whyte before he can get to a unification match against IBF/WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. That’s the fight that Wilder wants.
